And as far as the pistons are concerned, they'll won't be push overs, but I'm not expecting playoffs...but who knows? I've seen crazier things.

College ball is pretty good, I don't mind going to high school games, the pro's no thank you. Of all the professional sports basketball has to be my least favorite at the that level. Besides basketball courts always look better when covered in wrestling mats.

Orlando will win the East again this year, and it'll be easier than last year.
Losing Hedo will be forgotten - they actually improved the team, and it'll show up early and often. Expect more toughness too.....which was needed. I like Shaq - but expect him to be a big fizzle.......fo shizzle. Lakers will be tough - and I don't pay enough attention to the rest of the West to know if anyone out there improved enough to challenge them. Kobe still sucks. |

Yes, but "tough" is an understatement my friend You are over reaching with thinking Orlando got better bro. Care to elaborate on that? . Last edited by BiggerGuns=LongerDrives; 10-27-2009 at 03:56 PM. |

Carter and Hedo are an essential wash, Vince will score more than Hedo, but won't do some of the other things. Brandon Bass brings a solid presence at the forward position, and is an improvement in that area for us. Three of the other new guys will also be contributors. I have watched a couple of the preseason games and expect Ryan Anderson to be that guy off the bench that can just absolutely score from anywhere on the court. For a white guy, he can drive to the hole very well. Considering he was a throw in - I think we'll see that Orlando did well in the off-season.
Dwight will continue to get better and is already the best center in the league. Period. Retaining Martin Gortat to come off the bench as his backup was a great move as well. We all saw how valuable he was during the playoffs - and as mentioned, could start most places. It cost alot to keep him as a backup center, but I expect Orlando to trade him in 2010 or 2011, he'll be a valuable commodity. Rashard Lewis is back, and Jameer Nelson should be available for more than 30 games this year, which is also huge. Remember, he was essentially coming back to play vs. LA after not playing for 3-4 months. Jason Williams replaces Rafer Alston at the backup PG spot, and they are essentially the same player. No loss there. Anyway - nothing matters but wins and losses. Until then, its all talk. |

Nice thorough response Ren
You might be right, maybe I underated the Magic, time will tell. But I disagree that Carter and Hedo are a wash. For one Hedo has better basketball IQ than VC. But most importantly, Carter was the #1 option where averaged 21 pts, 5 reb and 5 assists. Hedo was at best the 3rd option in Orlando and he put up 17 pts, 5 reb and 5 assists. Not too mention he had to share the spot light with far more talent than what NJ had. So similiar numbers yes, but 2 total different scenario's all together....Vinces numbers are inflated. If VC slides exactly into Hedo's role of the 3rd option, his numbers will no doubt be down....A few points, a few reb's and a few assists....Thus creating a gap between the so called "wash" BUt who cares really, we are talking about one player here...it will certainly not come down to one player having that big of a factor unless his name was Bryant or Howard maybe. And you said Anderson would be that solid guy off the bench? Well he must have impressed the Magic because he won the starting PF spot (while Rashard serves his suspension) over Brandon Bass...I do think the Magic improved at the PF spot in general. I really wasnt factoring in that Jameer would be back and full strength either, so I might have to change my opinion, maybe they did get better. BUT it is only marginal and not enough in comparison to the Lakers

Sixers are supposed to be a playoff team. Orlando had 100 at the end of the 3rd - LOL. They coasted, took their foot off of the gas and won by 14.
They shot lights out, and may be a better shooting team this year than last. That doesn't bode well for their opponents. |
