Don't get me wrong - the tool that beat him has no business in the ring either. Kimbo is a sideshow - sorry, I just don't agree that he'll ever be more than that.
It was a pathetic match - and quite honestly, this season of heavyweights has the least amount of overall talent than any of the other seasons so far. |

You dont know about Roy Nelson obviously because you've given him no credit.
Dont get me wrong, I think he's a fat lazy bastard that thinks he's a hell of alot better than he is, but even so, he's still no joke and has well rounded skills. He dominated the IFL, sure a minor league, but either way, the guys track record is of no slouch (as much as that belly makes him look like one LOL ) Although Kimbo lost, he has gained MASSIVE credit for his level of dedication, this has come shining through on this show. He looked like the most serious, dedicated to learning and humble mother on the show. Believe me, I didnt expect to this of him, I expected to see some thug, some crazy dude with no respect for anyone, a "gangsta", but thats not Kimbo...not at all. He got beat, but by some bullsh!t. The night before the fight that fat motherfvck was talking to his team and he said he was going to get Kimbo in a crucifix and pound him out, but he made special mention that he didnt even have to hit him hard and he motioned his hand to his face giving little love taps and said if they are unanswered (becuase Kimbo's hands would be tied up from the crucifix position) that the ref HAS to stop the fight.....And thats exactly what happened. Dana said it best, those were like punches from a little girl. So I give no respect to Big Country, no more than him punching Kimbo once and then running from him the rest of the fight in order to secure a win on points...it was the same sh!T. And Kimbo's coming back next week as an alternate, that boy aint done. I was never a Kimbo fan but from watching the show I see a very humble guy who is dedicated and has a major desire to get better...he will make it into the UFC, he just still has to focus on the ground game. Well as much as I dont like Big Country, Roy Nelson should be the ringer with all hiw experience ,but he did lose to Jeff Monsoon and even I have tapped Jeff....J/K. He Monsoon choked the shiat out of me, 4x. SUCKED!
But seriously, Roy's pedigree is impressive, and his training past is awesome with shamrock, couture and such. Just seems he is useless in improving himself. And Kimbo might be marketed as a sideshow but in his mind he is not, and that is what counts. He is reallly trying to succeed. If he can win this or even just get a few wins in him, it wil legitamize his MMA career. And let's face it, he will get a few fights in UFC anyway, they mostly all do if they make it to this show, unless they truly suck or dont put in effort. On a side note, love how guys who just got whooped on try to offer him advice. Wes 'I cant cardio" Shivers telling him to take the little bits of info to improve himself....he needed to use all th ground game advice. Meanwhile, Wes needs a treadmill...big-arse out shape Lurch...that loss was unneccesary. Anyway...at least Kimbo is coachable. To date he is the best one to do exactly what his corner side when they said it. By the wire coaching like that is not something you can learn and is hard, I have been in enough BJJ tourneys to appreciate that. I give him props for being relaxed enough to do what his corner says. He will get somewhere in MMA. Hell, Brock is more of a sideshow than Kimbo.

The last 2 fights were boring, tho the first fight was kinda cool in that the guy got his head knocked open. But these guys are garbage, even Rampage was yelling at Abe "He's going to try to take you down again" over and over, and he just stood there. I understand and know how hard it is to defend a takedown without training in it, but he did NOTHING. The Shiver v. Mcsweeney fight was the most boring thing I've ever watched. 1 1/2 rounds of guys gasping with their hands on their hips. Everyone said is was a close fight but that's because neither fighter did anything. Personally, I hope Kimbo comes back and cracks Roy's head open. You just don't look at the president of the UFC and say "The king wants it his way" after a mediocre and cheap win.

And much worse I cant fathom an up and comer denying the advice given to him by a world class professional who has proven himself in the ring. I think some of these dudes suffer from shell shock in those moments, totally oblivious to whats happening around them. |

Next week I truly believe Kimbo will get another shot and I dont think he will make the same mistake against Roy the next time. Hell, Roy has some shinys on his face just from the glancing blows Kimbo put on him, that speaks volumes.

I see where you all have your points on Kimbo and yes, he has improved, he's dedicated alot of effort to it, and made progress. Its just my opinion as an outsider that he has too many factors against him to ever be really successful in the UFC. Will he make some money and be a draw? Probably. Is he a legit title contender - no, not even close at this point. Any of the top 10 heavyweights in the UFC would own him right now.
His age is another factor against him - its a younger mans sport, with short-lived rides at the top for most of the successful guys. There aren't going to be any 8-10 year streaks of dominance in such a brutal sport. There are new faces on the scene every day, thousands of mom/pop gyms and even off-shoots of the bigger gyms across the country, and around the world. I doubt he ever reaches the 5 win total in UFC. |

Yeah..it is all anti-American stuff and Pro-Communists themes...he even has an upside flag tattooed on him...
Course he did get popped for spray painting anarchists stuff on the WA state capitol building so it is expected.

Nothin says hardcore like putting ink stating you hate X Y and Z on yourself but making sure to stay in the "cushy" country that goes against X Y and Z. I wonder what he's gonna be when he grows up....
