I won't argue the popularity of it...but there has just been something missing since he died. That's what I mean.

Actually - it died before Sr. hit the wall in the hickishness arena. When guys like Yarbrough, Richard Petty, Ned Jarrett, Neil Bonnett, etc. , left, the guys like Gordon came in and things changed. Yes, it is far more popular now, but I think its also over regulated, (too many rules) etc.
Danica would still get pushed around on the track though - don't believe for a second that the Matt Kenseths, Robbie Gordons, and Kyle Busch's of NASCAR wouldn't ride her ass, get her loose and spin her into the wall. They would do it and wave as they went by her. |

Golf is a reserved game without the need for hollering and yelling, go to europe and you wont hear that... have a US player and out comes the deck chairs, 6 packs and 'holla's' Golf is classed as a goodie-goodie sport because its championships are quite uptight and prudish but i actually like watching the sport on tv with the applause for a good chip etc, without the GEERRRR IN THE HOOOOOLE!!!! Also when players of non american citizenship tee off or go for a putt, they get heckled by the same slack jawed yokels. My 2 cents
