Wow!!!
I feel like your wife....ummm, wait, maybe that came out wrong.
I mean, I feel the same as she does. People ask me what I am, I tell them American. That usually frustrates people though.
Nothing irritates me more than people hanging flags from another country from their cars, outside their houses, etc. - If I went to their county, lived there for 25 years, still couldn't speak their language, and hung American Flags everywhere, they'd probably take that as an insult....
Irish and Italians are big culprits of this as well as all the El Salvadorians, Cubans, Dominicans, Mexicans, Columbians, and especially Puerto Ricans.
My fiancee is Puerto Rican, and he never saw a problem with it...mainly because he was one of the people that did it....not any more though.
He would never tell someone he's American - he's first generation PR - but he won't be hanging any flags unless it's an American one any time soon either though.
Anyway...sorry to go off topic...
Tommy, people get murdered every day around my way....Oh Boy, I just made it sound like I do live in the ghetto...but if I pulled the demographics for my area...you'd probably think I did too...hahaha....it's not as bad as it sounds, there are just some areas that you might not want to venture into after dark. LOL.
