Default What are you reading?

Just curious what everyone is reading out there. I'm hoping to be introduced to an author or story I haven't previously heard of or read.

I am reading The Pillars of Earth by ken Follett (973pgs)

"The Pillars of the Earth sweeps through 12th-century England in an era of raging civil war, telling of a group of men and women whose fates are linked to the building of a great cathedral, a site of bloodshed and treachery".

I can't wait for the next book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. Greatest fantasy series EVER!!! I don't know anyone who has picked this up and not been totally engrossed by the story.

Ive been getting into a book called Dinosaur Danger by Nick Denchfield and Anne Sharp, its a pop up book so its what you might call light reading, however its thoroughly interesting and informative about the Danger Dinosaurs can cause us in the Modern day world.

"A new Earth" not sure of the author

It was recommended from Oprah. Apparently its supposed to change your life in good ways.

I'm not reading it but I'm going to be very soon.

"The history of the CIA"

By Tim Weiner

Its pretty much just 400 pages for CIA bashing, but its got some interesting stuff in it either way.

I am currently reading Misery by Stephen King, and I am also in the process of writing a few short stories. I'd suggest anything by King, one of my favorite authors.

Just started:
Inside Delta Force: The Story of America's Elite Counterterrorist Unit by Eric Haney

I'm rather addicted to the tv series "The Unit" based a bit on the above book, but I'm also rather addicted to just about anything military related and it was time to move on from reading about the Vietnam Era.

I'm reading The Godfather's Revenge

A novel inspired by the Corleone family characters created by Mario Puzo, written by Mark Winegardner

It's ok so far, I'm not real far into it - on page 33 of 609....... But I doubt it's going to compare to Godfather 1 and 2. It may just beat 3 outta the water though, doesn't take much - that wasn't a very good movie......lol.

"Under and Alone" by William Queen... it's about an undercover agent who infiltrates the Mongols (a motorcycle gang), and the toll it takes on his life...

I haven't started it yet, but it's waiting for me at home once finals are over

I used to date a chick in high school and her dad was a leader in the Monguls.
They'd have meetings at his place and they'd all come over, they were some crazy dudes...I was only 16 at the time, talk about intimidating.

Sure thing! They have it for pretty cheap on BN.com too for like $7. Plus you can probably get it dirt cheap used on amazon.

I used to date a chick in high school and her dad was the leader of... a small marketing company. Damn... Not nearly as cool

... I'm also gonna be reading Sartre's 'No Exit', and hopefully read this book called 'The Genius of America' by Eric Lane and Micheal Oreskes. Its about the founding of America and how the founders actually meant for the nation to turn out. Even if your not interested in American History (which surely includes me), it should still be a good read.
