Any computer expert here.....
I have a Compaq laptap 5 years old that will not start. It start in the safe mode then crops out few seconds later then it repeats the faulty start...????Any ideas?
I have a separate hard drive case to try to get the hard drive running on another computer but have not had any luck with that either. At this point I'm not sure if it's a faulty memory stick, hard drive or what!!!! Any help appreciated Thanks

Make sure your ram is seated correctly.
If that fails, try popping an XP disk, booting from it, and repairing the oS. If THAT fails, try installing Linux

Booting off the disk will eliminate the HW portion of it - if it boots fine from the install disk, then you know it isn't hardware-related. If you still have issues with it when booting from the install disk, then you have hardware issues....RAM, CPU, HDD, MB.
