Default Scary movies as a child

Two movies that scared the sh*t out of me as a child, that has forever impacted my life would be Jaws, and The Exorcist.

Anyone else scarred from watching a scary movie?

Exorcist was the first thing that came to my mind when I read the title. Poltergist was another.

I didn't like Jason talking "THROUGH" his mother in the original Friday 13th. Holy ****, that freaked me out when I was like 17. I know as a kid it terrified my ass.

Arachnophobia gave me nightmares for about a week after I first saw it as a child. I was constantly waking up in the middle of the night ripping the sheets off my bed and checking for spiders.

The Exorcist didn't really bother me until I saw the newer uncut version with deleted scenes and saw the part where the possessed girl walks down the stairs like an upsidedown spider and spits out the blood. That just freaked me out.

Screw those movies haha...my bother showed my preditor at age 6 and my house always has had the sounds of something walking around at night, but of course since it's just the old heating system you can't see anything (to a 6 year old anyway). Of course I thought if only Arnold could stop it my family had no prayer! I hid under my sheets for a week scared crapless! That alien was bad and almost unstopable!

Honestly i've grown up with a very relgious family all my life, therefore movies like exorcist had less meaning for me as far as scare factor.

I always hated the Wizard of Oz. Freaking flying monkeys. Gave me nightmares for weeks. And I did not like Doctor Who. Those robots with english accents always made me upset.

would be Jaws for me too. I still get freaked out when I see it, even though Jaws does looks fake.
I'm still trying to remember some movies from back in the day.

children of the corn was scary as hell when I was a kid. I don't know how or why I was allowed to even watch it at such a young age.

I still get scared watching scary movies. I haven't watched one since the Ring. For like two days everytime I closed my eyes to go to bed I pictured that chick coming through the tv. Also that movie with Mel Gibson and the aliens with the crop circles freaked me out a bit the first time I watched it as well - like hearing a noise or whatever right after watching it. I had my husband go check to make sure everything was okay. Yep, I'm a serious wimpo when it comes to scary movies.

Yeah, I forgot about amityville. That one freaked me out pretty good too, but I was a little older when I saw that.

Another movie that has fueled an occasional nightmare to this day would be Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

The ONLY movie that ever actually scared me, and that STILL scares the f*ck outta me is Poltergeist. Can't watch it without either A) having nightmares or B) just not being able to sleep.
