Wink Found my new home..
For those of you who know me and care (only for the ones that have nice things to say).

I found a new place to live and I move in August. It is literally 3 minutes from my office and 10 minutes from Kaila's school. The town is very quiet and quaint, exactly what I wanted. No more 3 hour daily commutes for me. In the meantime, I will be staying @ my cousin's condo starting next weekend, which is about 20 minutes from work now.

I am so excited and happy to be moving on with my life. 2007 has bought alot of new and exciting things for me

Kaila is excited. She has a good relationship with her dad. She doesn't have much of a relationship with her sister, because she is a bit selfish and thinks the world revolves around her and her only. So she makes no effort to partake in Kaila's life. Its all about improving our quality of life. Mine and Kaila's. I would never take anything away from my daughter. I promised to get her a gold fish. She is a trooper just like me and will adjust. She knows that she will spend every other weekend and shared holildays with her dad and his family. I will even make the trip down to Miami whenever possible to have her visit her other grandparents. I have a great relationship with them.

No reason to have her grow up in a house that is not full of love.

Oh and I'd second think that gold fish thing. They are messy as hell, pooping every minute of their life.

I'd maybe think about a turtle, much less clean up involved.

Thanks Tommy.. I don't think I will need too much luck. I got alot of loving people on my side.

Turtle, cute idea. But that couch potatoe kid would probably make me do all the clean up on any pet. I better break her in..

Well thats the point, as a goldfish is hard to keep clean.
You will be cleaning out the tank every 3-4 days and cleaning the tank isnt easy....Those goldfish just poop and poop and poop.

I'm with BG - goldfish are very messy. If you promised a fish, there are lots of better options. Your local fish store can recommend something for you - neons, guppies, mollies, tetras, etc...

Way to go CC! Congratulations on your new start! I am sure Kaila will be fine. After all, she has you as her Mom!

And, about the fish/turtle option...

Turtles, especially the "slider" type are prone to carry salomonella! We found a wee little Green Slider outside our house a few years back and did some research. My son of course adobted the little guy so we took him in. When he found out he had to wash his hands anytime he touched the turtle he just ignored it! As usual, his Mom and I have been carrying for the turtle, the goldfish, the birds, and the dogs!

Maybe a stuffed animal is what you should consider! LOL

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I am so excited about my new start. I went out last night with my sister to celebrate, hence the hangover. Haven't had one in phewwww over 15 years. I can handle alot of liquor but we ran into some old friends from school and well we did some bar hopping and too much drinking. I am loading up on gatorade and water as we speak. Furniture shopping begins today and will be brutal because I am very picky.

We shall see on the pet. Afterall, she will visit her dog every other weekend.

And yes she will adjust because she has a great mom and we have good communication. Good riddens to my old life, I have a whole new exciting in the works
