DON'T PUMP GAS ON MAY 15TH

Body: In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices.
Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all Myspace members are to not go to a gas station in protest of
high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the Myspace network, and the average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up.

If all Myspace members did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day,
so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the
Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

as good of idea as it sounds, no one is really gonna do it. if they do, then theyll just gas on the 14th or the 16th. and one day isnt gonna help with prices. unless everyone starts riding a bicycle for the next month the oil and gas companies wont budge.

Gas is over $3 and it is $20-30 to fill up? Is that 6-10 gallon gas tanks?

$20 to fill up a moped maybe

I filled up last week and it was like $78...something like $3.35 a gallon!

we've really put our minds to buyin less gas. We ride our bicycles whenever possible. And if not we ride the motorcycle.
Just in the last month alone we've saved hundreds. I guess we're lucky that most of the things we do are right around our house. Even tho the ole man still has to buy diesel for the work trucks. Our personal gas consumption is super low these days. It truely has to be a conscience effort.
