My bag got stolen from my office at work last night. I work in a college library and Thursday evenings are quiet so I recognise ALL the people that were there. Which means I've known the person who took it for several months at least and they knew it was my bag (I was only woman there) and they walked past me to leave with it, and I probably said good night to them.
It's only when you stop to think, you realise how much you carry around with you. My diary had all important birthdays, my phone had irreplaceable photos and videos, I was expecting a text to tell me my friend had safely delivered twins, a 50p badge that my uncle bought me, a £2 key fob that I loved. Stupid little worthless-to-other-people things that I've lost now because they wanted £5 from my wallet, an old battered iPod, an even older mobile. And to top it off, I've had to borrow money of my 7 year old for my bus fare this morning. And the worst part is, they'll probably be back in the library next Thursday evening...

Here is what you do Jupiter.....Tell a couple friends that your bag was stolen and you talked to your boss and he said that the "newly installed" cameras will pick it up and that he will go over all the video this weekend and it will show who took it and he will take the appropriate action from there.
Even though you know it isnt true, just wait and see if your bag just doesnt "magically" re-appear or someone will confess.. Just an idea for you to think about. But I am sorry to hear that it was taken.

That truly stinks... One day I am gonna be a victim of the same thing. I leave all my stuff laying around my office. I have been at my job for over 8 years and not once has anything been missing (actually once someone stole my grilled chicken from the fridge, that Pissed me off
).People come in and out of my office all the time, even when I am not around to drop stuff off... I should be a bit more careful. One thing I do practice is locking my computer... Many confidentials on there for anyone to see and I am bad at leaving all my windows open. I guess I am more mindful of business than personal. Good luck and try Nite's little plan, you never know! and if you catch em' give them a beat down!

Everyone yells at me for leaving my stuff out. My keys, my bag, my money, jacket...it's all over the place. Plus, I have one of those really big Coach Tote bags, and I throw all my other stuff in there (I actually have 2 Coach wristlets in there, my planner, my phone, my money, my credit cards). Someone would hit the jackpot if they stole that. They'd be a little obvoious though. That bag's pretty big. I'll learn my lesson if/when something happens though. There are always people coming in and out of my office throughout the day too. I'm just asking for trouble, huh? Nite, that's a pretty neat little trick to try. Must be the cop in you talking. |

Nite, that's kinda what I've been doing all day. Mostly coz I can't keep my mouth shut, I've been talking about it with colleagues in front of the students, and I've been bigging up the personal items and the pictures of my kids on the mobile. Maybe part of me is hoping that a student will talk to another student who'll talk to another and maybe... I don't know. My son offered to lend me some money (7 years old), I tried to say that my money was safe but I had no wallet to put it in!
