If someone breaks into my home i would have to kill them no doubt about it, so then i would have to chop them up in the bathtub and dispose of the body, unlike Americans who have the right to kill anyone whos entered their home. As you can tell im not into scumbags rights.

I am with NiteHawk here! As a retired cop, I often miss the days where my sidearm went on just as if I was putting on pants! I could get a wear/carry concealed permit here but what's the point? Legally, I would have the right to carry a weapon but use it? Nah! It was a lot easier when I was a L.E. officer.

My personal opinion is that if the citizenry of any country carried firearms, criminals might think twice before jacking someone. I mean, if it is possible that the intended victim is armed, the criminal element might be a bit detered from trying to stick them up. As it stands right now, with all the Anti-gun crew pushing gun laws, the only people who are benefiting from the laws are the criminals. I like Texas. In that state, you can still wear your sidearm in plain view. If I saw a guy strapped with a Desert Eagle, I would give him a wide birth!

Yeah ive been doing my research on Texas, my opinion is that Texas is the only free state in North America or as free as any place can be in these God forsaken days!

I understand where you're coming from but i bet Texas' prisons are just as full as any other places. There will always be crime doesn't matter what people are carrying around so from the deterent point of view i don't agree.
In some middle eastern countries you still get your hand cut off for stealing but you still get thieves. I mean you've got the death penalty in America, what bigger deterent do you want? But the fact that death row even has people on it shows as a deterent it doesn't work. There is no deterent for crime, there's always been crime and there always will be not matter what the consequences are.

I only agree with guns from a protection point of view not as a deterent. I'm not pro or anti gun, i just hate the fact that the world is getting ****tier by the day and that to protect ourselves we've got to resort to carrying guns around with us. But that's the way it's looking i agree.

I am not saying that if the citizenry were packing guns then criminals would be detered. In fact, they might just shoot you rather then flash a piece and rob ya. I just think if everyone were packing heat, some criminals would not want to risk dodging a hail of bullets after they stick up someone. Remember the scene from Blues Brothers, near the end when all the cops, military, etc cornered them as Belushi and Akroid paid the money. If a criminal had to face a bunch of guns AFTER they committed some nefarious act, MAYBE they would think twice. Though, from my experience, there will be those that just don't give a ***t.

This could be considered true only if the death penalty was used promptly. The vast majority of murderers are let out on parol after 10 years and those who are sentinced to death sit on death row anywhere from 10 to 30 years.

I live in Texas and even down here they are trying to take our guns. It is actually no longer legal to have your gun in view.

Many people use Texas as an example against the death penalty because there are so many murders after we keep putting criminals in the dirt. Well the major flaw with this plan is 80% of the violent crimes is southern Texas are from gangs of illegal imigrants.

If someone comes into your house with a deadly weapon you can only use enough force to stop that person(my excuse would be i aimed for his leg and missed, the bullet happened to hit him between the eyes), if someone forces their way into your car you can shoot them. But what if you or your family are on the street and they get mugged,raped,or shot at, if you shoot at them or kill them you go to prison. The Self Defense plea is vertually non-acepted now.

Unfortunetaly the honorable, gun-toting, law enforcing cowboy days are over in Texas
