I don't know very much about current research into supps but I believe the jury is still out as to the effect of creatine long term on the heart.
Some supps definitely do affect the heart/circulatory system, it's what they're designed for - raise metabolism rate, body temp, vascularity etc - they cause palpitations and related problems for some people - may be just annecdotal evidence. I'm pretty sure ephedra was banned for causing heart-related problems (whether or not it did I have no idea)
As to the 'pump' like with NO Explode, not sure... but supps like that affect all the circulatory system not just the vessels in your arms so I see where you're coming from... I guess you only get the effects for a few hours out of 24 each day so your body will probably find it relatively easy to adjust over a period of time. I suppose exercise itself has a similar effect to a lot of supps, just less pronounced, so your body is used to such fluctuation. BUT you don't really wanna make your heart unnaturally 'pumped' I guess?
One thing is for sure, there are no long-term studies on the new crop of stimulant supps, because they are 'new', so you just gotta weigh up the pros and cons.
To be honest I doubt most supplements have enough of a positive effect to have any real long term negative effect (if you see what I mean) ie. most of them are a hyped-up waste of money.
