Furnace problems
Ok my sewer pipe backed up the past couple days and it was a mess, about 4-5 inches in the basement. I know I should have called the plumber yesterday, but I had clinicals which I can't miss. Damn plumber charged me $180 which I cannot afford, but at least the water heater still works. It didn't put out the pilot lights on the gas furnance, but it must have shorted something out because it turns on and the flames all ignite, but the blower does'nt turn. Right now I have a fan blowing on it so I have a little heat, but don't know if I should leave it like that overnight as I can smell gas. I probly should'nt have messed with it. A wire looked like it was unplugged so I plugged it in the middle plug (there is 3-1 with H, 1 with M and 1 with L) I figured middle must mean medium, anyway a shot of flames came out the side, so I don't know if I shorted something or not. My gf says to turn it off for awile and leave the fan blowing on it, sound like good advice or should I call the gas company or get a new blower? By the way I really can't afford this right now as I'm in school and living on borrowed money, but its supposed to get into the uppper 20's tonight and its a weekend.
