i heard he's going to play for LA but if that's going to be the contract he's getting than i'd tell you to get the Heck out of here!
he isn't deserving of that, What would the other soccer players make then?

LA Galaxy have made a big error lmao
He has been dropped by the national team, cant get regular football at real madrid and now this 31 yr old has been offered $1m a week for 5 years. if he is far from the best of his game at 31 you think he will be running rings round people at 36?!  this is a semi-retirement move the same as when gary lineker moved to japan, its the same set up... the locals barely have a clue how to play football without running into each other so they buy a high profile aging star to raise their 'game'. Only in america America has the NFL and NBA, its MLS is like our special olympics... All hail the era of beckham

Ridiculous money for someone who isn't going to wow the crowds for his on the pitch ability. To say he's not doing it for the money shows what a prick he is.
The problem is, is that although he will increase the interest and bring in the crowds it will not be sustainable. As soon as the hype calms down the Americans will, and I guarantee this, get bored and turn else where. Beckham is not enough to change an overriding negative culture concerning the beautiful game. I also hate the way he wants to develop his American 'soccer' schools further. With the complete shambles our youth system is in it's amazing how he wants to improve the youth in another country. With his money we could have an equivalent to the French's school of excellence 'Clairefontaine' which is regarded as the best youth development academy in the world.
