If M & F is reporting him to bench 460 lbs, then I'd say it's more like 360 lbs, but hey, Big Ben is definitely a strong dude so who knows. That's how he clears out the box all the time and gets those boards |

Yea in the pics he wasn't doing so much weight. They showed him shoulder pressing 50s and curling 80. So it makes you wonder if he is really benching 460. But yea as far as the NBA goes he is deffinatley one of the strongest guys in the leauge.

This is why I am obsessed with the figures that they give for what these sports heros are benchpressing. They seem a little high but who knows maybe these guys are really that strong who knows. Another one that I have heard is that Donovan McNabb of the eagles benches 500 and is the strongest player on the Eagles. Who knows if these figures are accurate nut I know one thing I would love to catch these guys in a weight room and see them bench with my own two eyes.

Pound for pound he was the strongest I think Dwayne Wade seems to be pretty strong too, at least his lower base is strong as hell |

I remember Derek Fisher, he was a little guy. Dewayne Wade ain't to big either he is only like 180 I think. Big Ben has to have them beat.

Thats the thing. If he really has been strength training for 10 years of more with good coaches, he could very well do that.
I mean, there are 'scrawny' 180lbs powerlifters that put up close to 400, so why can't someone who weighs 240 do 450? A lot of sports numbers are BS because the majority of people don't know what is BS and what isn't. I know he's a strong dude though. Makes me wonder why more players don't take strength training as seriously.

Based on the pics in the magazine, I really don't think he could crack the 400 mark, especially 460. I think the sports writers give the "e-lifts" when reporting on these "super" heros. I really don't see Tiger benching 300 either, could you imagine how much that would screw up your golf swing.
They probably calculate his max by saying since he can bench 125 lbs, 5 times, he could probably bench 300 lbs once.. you know how that math works

But he very well could do it. I have a cousin that is 270 lbs and I just watched him do 425 lbs for a one rep max on the flat bench and this was on his last set. He had done 4 sets of incline and 3 sets of flat and on the 8th set, he lifted the bar off himself, I never touched the bar at all for him and he pushed up 425 - So I'd guess his one rep max, not done on the last set, is probably over 450. Anything is possible |

Like this: I can lift 225 lbs 20 times. Which means: I can lift 450 lbs 10 times. and lift 900 lbs 5 times. So, Really, my one rep max on the bench is well over 1,000 lbs. Who wants some of me!!!
