Angry My car won't start...

I was rushing to get out of the house, making good time, get in the car and the dang thing won't start. I have some power in it, but when I try to hit the ignition, it just clicks.. Hopefully its only the battery....

My car is in great shape, but i think all the miles are wearing it out...

Its your battery, or the starter, but it sounds more like the battery to me, try giving it a boost. I bet it will work.???

CC
It could be the battery, or could be the alternator .....or could be the starter (probably not the starter though)

Good luck Cubanita

If you get it jumped, I would take it to AutoZone (or something like that) on the way into work. They will normally test it and, if bad, replace it. Labor for testing/replacing is free.

The exact same thing happened to me a few months back. STUK/Mouse recommended I take it there and it was the battery and they replaced it. I sat on the curb and drank a cold one while they did the work. lol

You guys are all mistaken. If its not the battery being low-power, the clicking noise is the solenoid in the starter. Sometimes if you just tap the solenoid, it'll allow the power to flow and then function. If not, replacing the solenoid is by far cheaper than a battery and or a complete starter.

Prob battery low tho. Good luck with it n let us know how it goes.

if it's a standard you could push start it...sort of embarrassing, but it would work...unless you have a bad alternator.

I think I had to push start my car half my senior year of high school...lol. Well I didn't actually push...my friends did.

Thanks all for the advice. AAA came out and got it fired up. The guy said my spark plugs look a little worn out and there was a clicking noise with electrical sparks running thru.. could see em live. Anyhow, I went to drop it off @ the mechanic and they are gonna call me soon. I couldn't go too far since we left the kids home for 10 minutes tops. Kaila with her teenage daughter and the guard dog (Cody, 4.5 pound yorky, boy hes got a big bark)...

Luckily we have 2 other cars....

Wish me luck kids, I will keep ya posted once I get the call.
