I scraped up my rim and now I'm pissed, it is my new car! ya think my rates would go up if I filed a claim with my insurance?

If your that concerned about it, why not just take it to a place that refinishes wheels? It'll only cost you about $75-150 to make it look like new. I wouldn't even consider going to insurance and honestly I don't think insurance would cover it.

I didn't know they could refinish wheels...so they can like buff it out, sort of how they buff out scratches in the paint?

fix it on your own if you can. i know how those insurance companies are. I think it would go up.

I had a set of wheels for my car that i bent from a pot hole. Took the to wheel collision and for $150 the straightened the wheel filled in all the curb rash and re-finished the wheel. Looked brand spankin' new.

I'm lucky to have one of the top wheel repair shops in the country within 30 min from me. Check out there site. You can ship your wheel to them as well.

Totally agree with joe526, no need to get insurance involved.

Once you get your wheel repaired, just go right up to your car and key the living heck out of it. Then you will not worry about any other scratches, dings, or dents! J/K
