But seriously what are you asking, are you putting in a new hard drive? Or maybe your just clearing it? Or maybe your asking to straight up start your harddrive from scratch.

Its a new hard drive that I got this year but I ghosted my old drive's Operating System on it. It seems to get more problems daily. I was wanting to wipe this new drive clean. So I was wondering what is better, using the XP disc or good old fdisk ??

I'd recommend fdisk... I have a version of XP that I got from school so im not really sure how the formatting is but i always rely on fdisk when starting over. It basically makes the drive as if you just bought it from the store.
Go with fdisk, its a proven method.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Fdisk is a great program. I'll let everyone know how it goes tonight, if I can get everything to work and get on-line again..

If its a new hard drive there is no reason to fdisk. Fdisk is a fairly outdated utility anymore. I'm in the industry and honestly can't remember the last time i ever had to fdisk anything. The install disk will partition and format everything for you and make it nice and easy for you as well.
