Therye all funny to me. I grew up on eddie murphy comedian( i can recite it frontwards and backwards) but looking back on it alot of the humor i percieved was from all the f-bombs. when youre 13 years old its funny to hear all that swearing, when youre 36, you look for a little more intellectual humor. Never heard russell peters but the true test of a comedians material is if he can do a comedy central special. You know the clean one with no swearing. If you still laugh, hes good. Eddie murphy, richard pryor, and definetely chris rock wouldnt be able to pull that gig off. |

Most of the ppl on comedy central really arent that funny. i was just using that as an example. Still, comedy has evolved alot since the days of eddie murphy and richard pryor. I dont find them nearly as funny as i did when i was a child. Hmmm.

First of all I think Dane Cook is hilarious, I also feel he is kinda overrated. He does bite jokes (but all comics do). One thing he does have is a very good delivery. There are a lot of more proven comics who are more funny than he. I'll mention some no one has said; Pablo Francisco, Mike Epps, and just to get a conversation started I'll say Andrew Dice Clay.

Haha. I do not like ADC at all. For those of you who have never checked out Mitch Hedberg, give him a listen. He is the king of non-sequitur comedy. Although i dont think he had any other choice than one-liners cause he was so damned stoned all the time that putting a long joke together with a big set up was probably just out of the question.

Last time I was in Vegas (month ago) saw Super retardo at the Comedy Stop. Never heard of him before. He was hilarious.
I've seen Dice, Dennis Miller and George Carlin all live in person. Carlin was BY FAR the best. I was freaking crying. Had front row seats too (and for Dice). |
