Default MMA THREAD- for fans, maybe fighters

I remember how around every UFC event, a new thread would be started about that event and main fighters.

well, why not continue it here. I could put OFFICIAL for the thread title but there are too many OFFICIAL threads around.

most people here seem to be UFC fans. understandable, but i prefer PRIDE FC. just suits me.

-i may be late but, i just found out Mirko "CroCop" Filipovic won Pride's Open Weight Grand Prix tournament. very happy to see him win it. he beat Wanderlei "the axe murderer" Silva, who chuck WAS suppose to fight in the NOVEMBER card, and josh barnett in the same night. thats exciting to me.

cro cop's a beast, you guys should check him out.

to end this attempt of a thread for mma i like to say that there should be a
PRIDE vs. UFC tournament going on.

(i could have posted this on a mma forum but like all forums e-tough guys will try to say "you don't know sh!t", so this is for those that don't want to deal with the whole seniority crap)

any member here a fan of mma can speak your mind here on mma.

i think [EDIT] POSTING links to highlights of fighters would be good for people to know ALL of the top fighters and up and coming fighters.

a year ago, it was hard for me to watch mma. i wasn't a fan of raw violence but ever since i've lifting regularly and been trying to get everything in my life straight i realized that mma is very passionate.

a lot of dedication and hard work. i respect all the fighter. some of them are inspirational. i usually watch a couple of clips/fights before a workout to psych me up. i like HITTING the weights, only mentality to have

subfighter.com has a lot of video on grappling-mainly the brazilian jiu-jitsu variety. you can find some of the videos up on youtube, metacafe, and others.

i say boxing, wrestling, and grappling is pretty much all a person needs to know how to do to be a complete fighter.

don't know, i was reading a thread at another forum about people fighting at their natural weight.

matt's only 5'9. going heavyweight may slow him down. he's like 170 lbs

since crocop won the owgp at pride, a lot of people are wondering if chuck will fight crocop. highly doubtful considering crocop is a heavyweight- that and why would you (pride and ufc) risk having your fighters fight each other when both are in different weight classes.

chuck should move up in weight.

For those who havent a clue, its the UK's version of UFC.... the stepping stone.
Its a proper cage fighting school and i hope to get myself somewhere with it

Uh oh! Could you be the next Michael Brisbane? Good luck to ya mate!

I love both UFC and PRIDE! Crocop is a pure beast and I really admire the fact that they still fight more then one opponent. Matt Hughs should stay where he is. He is Beast @ 170 and he continues to improve his skills. His bout with Gracie, and I will give you Gracie is getting up there in years, was impressive.

RedWings, what do you expect to learn from a "site"? You should see if there are any MMA schools in your area. No book or website will give you the hands-on experience that a gym will. Do you have any goals or reasons for learning submissions or take-downs? Just wondering not trying to knock you...

Is Brisbane's gym any where near you? I think it was the Wolf's Lair.

Cro-Cop's a sav, but I'd really like to see him fight Fedor. I think that Cro-Cop is the only guy that could really challenge Fedor right now and it would be a helluva match.

i think the winner of the OWGP, CroCop, is going to get a chance to fight Fedor on new years eve.

the president of Pride might try to fit crocop into the first PRIDE USA event. that event will include fedor vs. coleman, shogun vs. randleman, and others.

fedors incredible. i remember seeing fedor taking a kick to the liver from crocop without flinching.
