Cool Summertime Feel-good Music??

I've got a heap of people coming to stay at my parents beach house around Xmas and I've got a mate who's getting married on the beach etc....

A smaller group of us will be there for around 3 weeks and the rest (family & other friends) will be staying in camping grounds, holiday homes & motels/hotels for about a week.

As it's my parents place, I'll be "the host with the most" & I need to fill my ipod up with some good, easy to listen to, summer music.

I've got quite a bit so far but I'm always on the look out.

Any ideas???

Take into account that I'm 30 & most others will be around my age or older so I'm not looking for the bubblegum pop that's getting produced at the moment.

Songs from the 70's up that are summertime classics & are well known.

I know most here are metal heads but that just won't cut it with this lot .

I'm even open to cheesy sh!t - within reason!

try Jack Johnson

he's like the new Jimmy Buffet. try both of them for nice relaxing music.
Jack Johnson's hawaiian so his music is laid back, good for just lounging on the beach.

los lonely boys- how far is heaven reminded me of summer- it came out during the summer here. relaxing.

i'd go with a couple of jack johnson's albums and maybe others will give better suggestions

I've got a bit of Jack Johnson - mainly just the more well known tracks. I'll have a listen to some of his other stuff - cheers!

*edit - just checked, already got Los Lonely boys too

http://www.radioblogclub.com

i found this site trying to listen to songs i've heard at events. it has a lot of what you maybe looking for, it's selection depends mostly on the users who post there. nice site to visit when at work or the library- with headphones ofcourse.

search for whoever you feel like, you may find it there. i'm listening to some jack johnson now since i'm a little sick, just chilling....

I'm more of a mac man - that's why you get no rep!

I think Jimmy Buffet & Kenny Chesney are the best Summer tunes! They wosk you away, with drink in hand, to a tropical place!
