I love this processor. Its been a darn good one. I believe AMD left the socket type processors and went to the slot type. Am I correct on this ??

Nah, they are still socket. My 2.4 AMD64 is a 939 socket, fast as hell too. AMD's are built like tanks, I love em too. I will never go back to a pentium.

Now with conroe out, I want to upgrade mine to a 2.8 AMD64. That almost the equivalent of a 6ghz overclocked pentium. Very fast

i REALLY need to get a new pc. you ready for this?

built in 2001

1.2 ghz amd athlon
1 gb 2700 ddr ram, which isn't compatible with my motherboard
20 gb hard drive
slow a$$ cd burner
slow a$$ dvd player, that doesn't respond sometimes
64 mb geforce2 video card
and--------WINDOWS 98!!!.

i'm sure if i had winXP it would run a lot smoother but i have about 1 gb of space left. the memory is good but becuase it isn't completely compatible with the motherboard and 1 gb is too much for win98, it still locks up sometimes.

the memory i can keep, everything else might as well be turn into a hardware firewall.
