There is a set amount, a base figure that Golds requires, but everything over that is commission for the employee's pocket book. Just like when you buy a car, same deal Go in there, negotiate, be demanding but very respectful at the same time. If the employee cant do what you need, ask for his manager. If you still have trouble after speaking to the manager, contact the district manager or corporate office and see what you can do. Put yourself through a little work, who knows might pay off and save you money in the end. Last edited by BiggerGuns=LongerDrives; 09-15-2006 at 03:59 PM. |

Does the gyn owner work there ? I'm at a Gold's gym where they give a discount if you pay for the year in advance. I pay 199 a year, which is a bargain, but I started going there about 9 years ago, and they keep me at the same rate because I renew every year.

I pay $420.00 for a local gym. That is per year and a corporate discount rate. I really think your choice is whether you want to be in a "brand named" gym or a gym that is less expensive and maybe more of a "fitness club". The choice is a personal one.

Im gonna join a local gym called go workout and its very equal to golds. My wife and i can join for $50 a month for both of us so id say $43 is a little steep for a single. Go in there and beat em up on the price.

Rickster: The gym owner is more likely to cut you a deal than the people who just work there. The Gold's I belong to is run by the owner and his brother, plus a handful of other folks who just work there. I talk to the owner or his brother when I want to get a relative or friend signed up. He gives the same price to anyone living under the same roof as me, but nowadays that's only me and my wife and the mother-in-law who lives in our garage apartment. But a few years back my kids worked out with me, and they got the same price as me.

Golds is a big name and I usually prefer big name Gyms because they are gonna have top line equipment, nutrition bar, clothing, tanning, massage, chiropractic, you name it.. they have it, but it will cost you..
Good luck with whatever you choice you make, but make sure in the end it will help you meet your ultimate goal!!! Hasta la pasta love!!! |

free school gym is awesome.. haha.. wen i'm at home, i use my home set.. 500 bucks a year is way too much.. haha.. 500 bucks could buy you a decent bench/squat station, and some good weights.. thats pretty much all you need really. I mean if you're gonna spend 500 a year.. you better get huge.. =P
