Default How to?

I swear it is getting old and to the point of disrespectful. Some people I work with insist on addressing me in email or refering to me with the spelling Hannah. They can't even spell my name correctly when it is right there in front of them on the To: or CC: line. It is the smallest thing, but I know someone would be fumed if for two years I emailed them and said...Hi Debie or Hi JoAnn, when it is Debbie and Jo Anne.

I almost feel like searching through all my old emails and sending each of the offenders a quick email about the proper spelling of my name.

Haha, I sound so uptight, huh?

hehehe...I'm really not. An uptight person would have been mad 23 months ago...me, it takes a couple years for me to get pissed. haha

Birthday cards, letters, emails spelt like:

Arron
Aron
Aarron
Aren

Then there comes the slang my mates use

'Ahhh' <---- seriously gets on my tits
'Azza'

Aaron is how I would spell Aaron. That is the masculine way of spelling it and how it is spelled in the Bible....you'd think everyone would know, right? lol

Traditionally though, Hanna is spelled Hannah, but my mom wanted to be different and took the h off the end of mine. That's why I spelled all my kids the normal way, no crazy names either. It sucks having people mispronounce your name all the time growing up.

Not much worse as far as names go as a male w/ the name Jamie.......

My favorite is getting girl sh1t in the mail addressed to Mrs. Jamie....LOL. I think the latest was Cosmogirl. Of course my wife thinks it is hysterical and just goes on and on about it........LMAO

Hannah - you could just butcher their names on purpose next time you email them........eh, maybe that is just childish

I know where you're coming from; to me it's a simple gesture of respect. Some people don't deem things like that important and refuse to spend calories moving their eyes from the bottom of the page to that CC: or TO: line. When you reply to them, sign the email with just your first name at the bottom as a friendly reminder.

try having my name and having people spell it tara, thera, terea, torah, terah, and the list goes on and on. I get mistaken for a female in the mail a couple of times too.

this is not including how people say my name; it gets worse and i find people putting extra syllables and consonants in my name. funny stuff.

Funny you should bring this up Hanna. I too have had issues with people misspelling my name or shortening it. Kent is not Ken, or Kenny! I did reply to an email that addressed me as "Ken". I had been here, at my job, for over 3 years and this one sales rep. kept calling me, and emailing me as Ken. I answered the email and the politely corrected this person saying that I would appreciate her calling me by my "REAL" name. OMG! You would have thought I cursed this person out! She sent my email response to my boss because she objected to the "tone" of my email! Holy Christ! All I did was ask her to use my proper name!
