Default Big Decision
Well, I got an offer of contigent employment at the Nantucket Memorial Airport for Airport Security. I passed my test and now Im in the second phase. I didnt expect it to all go this fast. Im at a dilema now. Its kind of awesome but scary at the same time.

In case you are wondering, Nantucket is the small island off the coast of Massachusetts.

Any advice or comments is appreciated.....

Very cool island Nite. (I of course know exactly where Nantucket is. )

You'll be busy as hell spring-fall...winters will be quiet. You are close to quite a bit off island. The CT, RI, and MA area where it all converges has quite a bit to offer.

No, I believe my brother has been out there though. I've always just stayed on the Cape. Will you be living on the island year around or off? Unless your wife likes things really quiet one season a year you may want to look into living off island and commuting.

Yes, those are decisions I have to make. Thats what is scary. The only way to get there is by boat or plane obviously..

BTW...in MA the type of treatment/coverage your wife needs is covered. Nantucket is MA.

The ironic thing about all this is that I dont like to fly. Flying actually scares me but yet I could be working at an airport but that doesnt mean I have to fly..

So, I guess its by boat if I commute..

Actually...you would probably have to do your commuting from the MA shoreline via one of the ferry's. They run daily and there are very rarely any problems if that helps.

Your wife will probably not have any trouble finding a job in her profession out here either. And you are at the hub of a very busy cultural area. You've got Boston all the way down to NYC all accessable via the highway.

Congrats Nite! Keep us safe from all the "wooly bulleys" that may try to enter the US from Nantucket! Beautiful place! Never been to the Island but up and down the coast! Gorgeous! Winters would not thrill me too much but hey, if the money was right, Alaska would be a great place to go. Good luck sir!
