Default What works well on scars?

I was hoping you guys might know. I've heard that so many products work: mederma, bio-oil, vitamin e, coconout oil, shea butter, etc. What has worked for you? The scar is on my arm and its 4 years old.

does cocoa butter actually relieve scars or just prevent them? I'm confused about this 'cos there was sticky on stretch marks and opinions differed...

for scars you need something silicone based, like curad scar therapy.

My Palmer's Cocoa Butter label says that it helps smooth and blend unattractive marks and scars. It also has Vitamin E in it.
It's "widely recommended for stretch marks" too.

I used this stuff religiously (along with vitamin E separately) during and after my pregnancy and I don't have one single stretch mark. And I gained a whole hell of a lot of weight.
So, this stuff either works, or I was really blessed with lots of elasticity in my skin. I'm not usually blessed with anything...so I'll say that the stuff worked.
