i still think nick G's post is a classic example of people's ignorance. im not saying nick g is ignorant because i know hes just pissed but thats how some people REALLY think.....ALL THE TIME.

Everyone can be an asshole sometimes, and when it just so happens to be a cop, closed minded people only get more reasons to think that cops are all generally just assholes.

I wanted to be a cop, dont think i'd pass the medical though.

I am trying not to hate cops, but I have had some HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES with them...

Dannyboy9 you would make a good cop because you tend to stay calm and you listen to reason...A trait I have found quite uncommon among law enforcement officers where I live...

Did you see Sean's post about his ticket? I can't remember how fast he was going, but it was really, really fast!

BTW folks...NiteHawk is one of the good ones! He and a couple of other cops that are on this board have really helped me start to change my opinion of police officers!

I've been a Police officer for 8 years, if you hate tickets then dont speed. Five-ten miles over is a safe bet, once you pass 10 mph over the posted limit you are asking for a ticket.

I have been a police officer for a little over a year started - in March '05 gradutated the acadmey in Oct '05....before that I was a Sergeant at a prison...I've seen so many people with that attitude "I hate cops", but whats funny is when the stuff hits the fan....whose the first person you call to come and help you out- A COP. My limit on traffic citations is usually 5-10 over but that was too excessive - slow down and you wont get a ticket. When I first started in the criminal justice field people like that used to frustrate me, but now I'm use to the "I hate cops......but -Mr. Officer can you fix my problem for me?" mentality.

There are several cops on here...Alot of them on gear too...

Which I don't have a problem with because I think it is ridiculous that gear is grouped in with heroin, coke, ecstacy etc...Steroids are a totally different animal...

Retired Sergeant here. Like iko172202 I spent 8 years in corrections, became a firearms instructor during that time, created the competitive Pistol Team for the facility, then moved on to the streets. Did patrol, radar enforcement, highway interdictions, Breathalizer operator, and then onto the "GAME". Narcotics. 10 mph was when I scratched one! Over that was almost a mandatory 'must appear' citation in NC. The highes violation was 105 in a 35. Yep, it was a straight stretch of Hwy that went from 55 to 35 (for 1 mile as it went through a town) and then back up to 55. Thank god the driver slowed down the minute I turned around, otherwise he would have been long gone!

I agree to an extent...if your a cop using gear and in your respective area of the world its illegal.....morally it seems a little wrong..not to dump on the cops who are using gear - its just my choice not to use gear, but I did mess with some in the past (the long ago past), but never again. I think the government made gear illlegal, because if used improperly it cant be devastating to the human body....with that said I know you Traz, and I know you think we should have the choice to do whatever we want , but some things should be illegal....and this is only an opinion not bashing ya man.

Maybe but they are still illegal. Should they be? That is an honest debate but for now, as a cop, it is mute. We don't get to make the laws, we have to enforce the laws and should not break the laws. Having said that, we are people. Prone to the same weaknesses as everyone else. Some of us rise to the occassion, others fall. We are no better or worse then any other person but we have a grave responsibility to uphold the publics' trust.

No worries bro! I am not on gear and probably won't be on it for many years (if ever). I just don't like steroids to be put in the same category as hard drugs.
