Default Allergies anyone??

Since november I have been having chronic sinusitis or so they call it. Originally treated with azithromax, it seemed to go away, but come back 1 month later. Presscribed ceclor, didn't work. Prescribed omnicef, didn't work. Back on azithromax and partially cleared it up although came right back. Went to an ENT doctor who did allergy testing and i tested positive for everything they tested for except food allergies. Here is my question.... Anyone who has allergies out there, get severe pressure in your temple area and ear blockage? Very hard to concentrate etc... Its not a typical area for pressure due to allergies, this is why i'm asking. I was put on clarinex and flonase, but the pressure came back. This time accompanied by fluid in the ear. Went back to the ENT and he put me on allegra D and nasacort aq and also a cycle of methylprednisolone. Needless to say this did nothing for my symptoms. Went back to my reg dr. who said my ear drums were red and I had a middle ear infection. Prescirbed 10 days of Biaxin XL in which yesterday was my last dose. I feel the most normal today then in the past 4 months. I debate the fact that this is allergy related or if i had a sinus infection that never totally cleared up and kept reoccurring and now the biaxin has killed it?? Guess i'm just looking for someone with similar experiences and if the cause was indeed allergies. If the cause was allergies, then why did anti-biotics cure the symptoms? Bit confused and doctors seem to be of no help.

had similar symptoms and were allergies. The antibiotic will clear it out but the alleriges will keep dripping fluid back in and you will most likely get another infection. I'm currently taking allegra and it works for me. I get a little fluid in the morning but that's about it. The key is to take it all the time and that will prevent the fluid build up and such. Some ppl are allergic to many things which makes it more difficult to control their allergies.

Sounds like me....i get a little fluid in my ears in the morning and thats it as of now. Hoping it doesn't come back.. I'm gonna start the immunotherapy soon. It takes years but overall its free via healthcare, so i'm gonna get it. Thanks for the response..makes me feel better

I have allergies but Ive never had ear blockages and such. I get stuffed up, sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, etc.

I take Flonase and Zyrtec. They work great.

I am only allergic to one thing that I know of...Surf laundry detergent... I broke out in a rash over my entire body...I had to get a Celestone shot to clear it up...Other than that I am immune to most things.

I guess I am pretty lucky... My GF has horrible allergies though so I do have to avoid alot of different things... She can't eat melons or avocados which is the strangest thing. They make her throat and lips numb...
