Default re-assigning hard drive letters

hey computer pros...

i am having some issues with my computer and i think it relates back to how my drive letters are assigned. my main hard drive is E and my secondary drive is F. my cd/dvd is D and any removable drives become c or g

i want my main drive to be C and secondary to be E. i think this is causing some issues with my ipod setup.....

so how do i change the letters? i am using xp....

thanks!

My computer - look at the drives and Identify which are which and then right click and rename. Should be as simple as that.

And here is the correct way to do that T:
  • Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
  • Under Computer Management, click Disk Management. In the right pane, you’ll see your drives listed. CD-ROM drives are listed at the bottom of the pane.
  • Right-click the drive or device you want to change, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  • Click Change, click Assign the following drive letter, click the drive letter you want to assign, and then click OK.
