Default Can't wait for summer

So this morning I had my official PRT. That's Physical Readiness Test in case you're wondering. At the inventory in the beginning of the semester I was disappointed with my results, even though I scored higher than mostly everyone else in my battalion my pushups were fewer and my time on the 1.5 mile was slower than first semester of this year. Today was a much better day. I maxed the push-ups by getting 92 in 2 minutes, I probly could have gotten 100+ but since the run was the last even and I knew it was gonna be the toughest for me I stopped when I maxed them. Same deal with the sit-ups, I maxed those at 109 in 2 minutes and probly could have gotten up to 115 or 120 but I was saving it up for the run. My run time was 8:57 for 1.5 miles. I would have liked to run it faster, but I'm not gonna complain.

Now if I can just pass all my chemistry classes and retain my scholarship(why I chose Chemistry as my major I'll never know, luckily I'm switching to exercise science next semester), I can spend the summer doing PT about twice per day. I decided I'm gonna start getting ready for BUD/S this summer even though it'll still be a few years away. In preparation for that I'm gonna be running in boots & utes on beaches everyday and hopefully working construction almost everyday.

I'm sorry if I'm rambling, but last night I only got a few hours of sleep and I've pulled my first all nighter in a series of two, I think I'm going to be awake for 48+ hours straight, I think it's actually looking like it's gonna be more than that, but oh well. All I know is that Stim X is a lifesaver, thank you Anabolic Xtreme.

Good going!

one thing that makes me wonder though is the range of movement that clasifies a push up?

nose to floor at the bottom end, arms straight at the top end of the movement? Thats a push up?

8:57 for 1.5 miles, pretty good time!

When I train I do push-ups full range with my elbows almost all the way out, but when I take my PRT I tighten my lats hard and keep my shoulders shrugged so that my range of motion is almost cut in half. You're supposed to go down to 90 degrees and back up to lock-out. If I'm training then I try to get the best workout possible, but when I'm just going for numbers I use technique to my advantage. It's the same with sit-ups, when I'm getting a workout I keep my back completely straight and I try to look up which makes them harder, but when I'm tested I have to make my elbows touch my quads so I only come up as far as I have to.

On another note I'm still awake, I'm pretty much gonna pass out soon, but I got my paper done which made me happy. It probly reads like sh!t but I got it done. I was so tired today that I was falling asleep doing flutterkicks this morning, not just between sets but while actually doing the exercise. My girlfriend also called me and was asking me to help her with something but I don't remember what, I think it was something important, I think she might have needed a ride somewhere but I don't remember. I didn't even think the call was real until I looked at my recieved calls a few hours later and sure enough she had called. I thought it was a hallucination.

I'm NROTC, Navy option midshipman. I'm trying to go SEALs when I get commissioned which is why I'm gonna be doing all the boots and utes runs on the sand. Eventually I'm gonna be getting my body conditioned to the point that I'll be doing pt 2-3 times per day. For anyone that's training for size, my routine is gonna be overtraining for them, but then again that's not my goal. By the time I get commisioned I want to be able to run an 8-8:15 minute 1.5 mile, a sub 18 minute 3 mile, 25 pull-ups, 100-110 push-ups in 2 minutes, 110-120 sit-ups in two minutes, and the swim time I'm not sure since I don't really know what a good goal for the swim time is. For the standard Navy PRT all I have to do is push-ups, sit-ups, and a 1.5 mile run. For BUD/S though I have to do a 3 mile run, pull-ups untimed, push-ups in 2 minutes, sit-ups in 2 minutes, and a 500 meter swim.

I've thought about switching my option to Marine Option, and the only reason that I haven't is because I want to go SEALs.
