If there is life on that moon (which I certainly think there probably is)... it would not be the type of life that depends on the sun for photo synthesis.. but is probably more based on volcanic gases, and vents.. much like the unique life that can be found with in deep water volcanic vents here on earth. how any of that effects the development of more complex life like fish, is beyond my understanding.. but I have a feeling would have a fairly large impact.

I think you all are talking about Europa...I am not sure if there would be organisms as complex as fish, but definitely bacteria or other single cell type creatures...

Here's the world's smallest violin playing the world's saddest song just for you That's not a good reason to not speak. He has every right to speak his mind, and you have every right to be offended. It's how the world works. I, for one, am getting sick and tired of the religious in the world expecting people not to speak their minds for the simple fact that it is offensive to THEM. I'm sorry, but most of religion offends ME deeply - so could you PLEASE not be religious? |

The question is "do we believe there is intelligent life....", I worry about finding that on Earth before we go looking elsewhere. When can we start WW3? We are overdue for a good fight in which "intelligent" humans go on a mass killing spree of themselves.
Heck before 50 more years we are going to kill off at least 25% of the remaining species here on top of killing each other. Hey, thats it! There must be intelligent life out there so we can continue killing!

But i too think it may just be very simple life there. But there is always the chance. There is other solar systems out their that have a sun with planets around it. All it takes it the right properties on the planet and there could very well be life. But what are the chances of intelligence like ours? I mean how many species of life are on our planet and their is only one which has intelligence like ours. For all we know the planet that sustains like is full of dogs and cats. |

or the gospels were written hundreds of years before logic and probability maybe? the level of thinking during those times is hardly something to rely upon, "well theres nothing in a 2 thousand year old book" the bible doesnt mention that the dallas cowboys will win the superbowl next season... does that mean they are screwed?

Personally, I think any bipedal life form capable of understanding and using tools, is very close to developing into a sentinent life form... Tools allow a distinct advantage in everyday life, whether it's hunting, fishing, skinning, farming, you name it.. and to utilize tools effeciantly you must be able to think in abstract... the ability to use tools, then allows those that are smarter and able to think in more complex ways a distinct advantage over those that cannot... which will further speed evolutions hands toward the development of sentinent life.. ANd probably the most important tool on the road to sentinent beings is peace of coal and other writing empliments. Written language first just in picture and eventually in letter, is what allows us to teach each other complex ideas from generation to generation. I very much believe sentinent life isn't all that odd of a development at all... Just like every other life form on this planet, they all developed to fill a niche... sentinent life is a niche aswell.. If you have a forests and limbs, and abundent life.. you will always have creatures evolve that will climb those trees... creatures that climb and live in tree's will develop hands to grasp limbs, the will develop a good eye sight, and will develope a good sense of balance as well as the ability to plot a course throught the tree's, which requires some abstract throught.. even utilizing branches to swing and bounce, is a step in the ability to use tools... once hands are developed to the point, that they can pick there nose and flick snot and poop at each other.. they are ready to pick up sticks and use tools... I'm certain this is a very natural progression on any planet given the correct balance of life giving conditions. It's all meant to be this way.. It's completely normal.. and it happens all over the universe I'm sure... You might think, well why don't we have sentinent life forms in the ocean? There is no niche in the ocean that would allow the neccessity for fish or ocean life to develope hands... There is no limbs to grab, all you need to do is swim.... the advantage of hands does not exist. A dolphin or whale can be the smartest creatures on the planet, but without hands to write with, they will never be able to accumulate knowledge. I'm fairly confident in this... Is it not likely that what we expereince is normal circumstance of life... as opposed to thinking that somehow we beat all the odds? I think that way of thinking is foolish... How can we or anything in this universe do anything that wasn't meant to be done in the first place.. existance is far to big and far to ancient for us to fool.

The Bible today is a living book. Its the Living Word of God. No, it doesnt mention anything about other lifeforms on other planets. So, I cant say that I really believe there are.
Everyday science is proving the Bible to be correct. I think that is so awesome too. Its not outdated and never will be. Do you realize how the earth is placed in the solar system with such accuracy? If it were any closer to the sun, it would be to hot to sustain life. If it were any further, it would be too cold to sustain life. The axis is tilt something like 23 degrees, anymore or any less and we would burn up, polar caps would melt, oxygen would be gone as we know it. God knows what He is doing.
