I cant actually beleive someone here said to buy a subaru sti over a 400 hp 2009 camaro. So, the sti will out handle it in the twisties, but a straght line, that camaro would rape it hardcore. This camaro has more sex appeal than the sti will ever have. besides subaru fvcked up the design on the front of those things. how ugly ass are they? and that 2 foot wing on back, oh how ugly.

Better handling STI +1
Better looks CAMARO +3
33% more power CAMARO +1
better acceleration CAMARO +1
better braking STI +1
Better traction STI+1
Greater displacement (2.5 L vs. 6.0L) CAMARO +1
Cheaper to modify CAMARO +1
Greater potential CAMARO +1
Probably cheaper STI +1
Chicks will dig it more CAMARO +1
Easier/more convenient STI +1

CAMARO wins this combat. STI has a lot going for it, but its a subaru, and its as ugly as Madeline Albright. And im not a big chevy fan.

this means sh1t because its all subjective....the STI is a kick ass REAL car. that camaro is still only a concept. the final product will not have that engine/wheels/bodylines/etc.

1/4 mile....i would put money on the STI.

If the Camaro comes out with this same concept design and features as shown, it will surely be favored overed a Subaru. It is so because I have spoken it.

the 1/4 mile would depend strictly on the weight of the camaro, which we dont know it. By the looks of it, it looks to be pretty heavy. I will agree that the 1st 1/8 mile the STI might be ahead, but with 400HP kicking out the rear, the camaro would surely catch up, given it doesnt weigh 3800lbs.

The STI is a sweet car that kicks ass on pretty much everything, but it really isnt that attractive. I base much of my opinion on a car by looks. Yes, i have driven an STI, and if a more attractive car dove like that, say an M3 i would for dure take an M3. Even then M3's aren a real looker. they look nice, better than an STI, but still arnt a really nice looking car by my standard. I am much of a sport car, exotic style kind of a guy. I like them low, wide, with fat tires, much like a corvette, or a 3000GT, or a ferrari, (well duh). And on top of this i would like to add that i absolutely hate those queers with their frickin honda civics that think they are all badass. please.

there are some nice hondas....an RSXtypeS motor dropped into a civic hatch is a pretty SICK car for the money and will smoke most cars.

i agree on the M3, except, i think it looks damn fine. the standard by which other cars should be judged.

as for the camaro...you know it will not look like that...at least 90% of the people will buy the low rent version with a V6 and 15" wheels. only a few will pick up the rocket version. just like the new stang.

Yeah, I agree, the sti (or an evo) would probly be faster to 60 and the quarter would be close because of the all wheel drive launch. After that the camaro (or challenger) would pull away (but thats at around 90-100 mph). The sti and evo also respond very well to mods and can easily put out 350hp without any problems and 400+ with a little more money, but then reliablity issues could come up (clutch and tranny, ect.) But I would'nt mind having any of these cars...

STI vs new camaro? Since i am not a fan of one or the other, i am neutral. We can't argue about looks, it's a question of personnal taste.

The STI is a race ready + all purpose car.On a red light, ,with all wheel drive, the STI would smoke the camaro, but the later one would catch up and beat it on the long run.Anyhow, i don't know why 1/4 miles or top speed is more important than traction or handling. Both delivers the good in their own ways.

i know a webiste that sells rear mounted turbos for camaros and trans ams, they have a twin turbo model for a LS2 corvette, so it would also work on the camaro. that would add close to 200hp if not more, STI what?

I am gonna disagree with a civic hatchback being cool when your drop an rsx-s engine in it. So you spend $4500 for an RSX-S motor and tranny, and then pat about $1000 in labor to have it done. So, great where are they at then? They now have just spent $5500 and their car has a whopping 210 horsepower. wow, that is a sick ride. esides that, it is so fvcking trendy that every bastard on the planet has one, and on top of that, a civic hatch back is an ugly piece of ****. Now, i am not lying, i know a kid, named Nick Tr*****e, who did a B16 swap in his red civic hatch back. he spent a total of about $4000 to get it done. I decide to race him after he challenges me. What an idiot. he wants to bet $50 he will hand me my ass. Little does he know, my 3000GT isnt stock, and i have put about $3500 into it for 660cc injectors, and twin 17g turbos plus a new clutch, heehee. Now i dynoed 397hp to all wheels, with given the drivetrain loss is about 475 crank horsepower. Yeah, my car weighs about 3800lbs, but it is one fast biotch. So we get to rocky mountain raceway where they have street drag racing on the 1/4 track. I watch him go a run, and he pulls 16.8 seconds. I am laughing my balls of. So, he still decides he can outrun me and i told him the bet was off. he starts calling me chicken, and pussy and what not, because i was basically stealing his money, so i told him it was on. We gave our $50 to anmiddle man, and we line up. he knows i have awd, but when he saw me smoke all 4 tires in the pit, his face went white when i looked at him. so we line up and the tree drops. Obviously, i tear of the line and i looked back half way down the track and he is easily 200 feet behind me. Well the race ends and we get our time slips, i run a 12.693 at 111.43 and he runs 16.442 at like 87.63 mph. I completeley toasted him. I took my 100 bucks and went home.

My point is with these guys, they think they are all badass with their pussy ass civics and rice rockets. i raced a turbo integra gsr and he runs like 13.9, which isnt too bad, but he probably put atleast 5 grand into it, and he is barely reaching 13's. My car does that bone stock. if i threw in 1500 for an e-manage, i would be running in the low 11's and that totals the same amount of money they put into theirs. plus, my car looks a helluva lot better than a hatch back civic that looks like an egg on wheels.

end of tirade.

As far as the M3, i am actually thinking of selling my 3kgt and buying one(warranty). But i cant decide whether i want to spend the extra 10K for a ZO6. but the waiting list for those is ridiculous around here, so i might actually go for the M3. I really do like the way they look, but the sedan-style is what i dislike about it, but for a sedan, it sure kicks ass and looks better thn the other cars like it.

yeah, when you boost a small block chevy those things respond very well. How about a highway run with a 600hp camaro? i dont think so.

but to let you know, a turbo kit for a corvette wont exactly work for a camaro. they would have to redesign the whole thing(piping would be completeley different, intercooler mount, and a whole list. but, still it can be done, and a 600hp camaro would rape pretty much anything on the street.

I will say this. I do know a kid that has a black 2004 STI and he ran 11.8. That car is really fast(for a street car). but he put about $9000 into it. I rode in it, and about **** my pants at how hard that thing launches. so, yeah you can mod up the imports to hang with the others, the point is it takes a lot more money to do it.

Cars should be compared stock to stock for a few reason. The main reason is that this could be an endless debate.Trust me, endless. On xbox.com. there was one about imports vs domestic cars because there was a game called Forza Motorsport, a racing simulation game that was about to come out.

Domestic fans would highlights the quarter mile and i see 2 reasons for that. The first one is that they are the clear winners against japanese cars. The second one is that most people can go to their local dragstrip , race legally and have an official E.T. peace of paper. If there was oval track for top speed, they would look at japanese cars in a very different way because they shine at higher speed.Wich one are the best?Only a racing track (with curves and everything) would tell because every aspect are important. Here are the main and who has the advantage:

0-60mph:domestic
1/4 mile: domestic
top speed: about the same
handling: imports
braking : imports
