Default moltrin anti-inflammtion for a 14 year old 400mg

i went to the doctor 2 days and go and told him about my arm pain. It was from everytime i play volleyball or handball(which requires maxiumal arm swing) it starts to really hurt and then an hour later it stopped. he said it was tennis elbow and he said it wasnt that bad because when he checked it out there wasnt any swelling etc.... he presribed some moltrin anti-inflammtion 400mg and told me to take it twice a day on a full stomach.... i am a little scared of the side effects and i think its too strong i did some homework and stuff thats why i think its too strong and i am problely gonna only take it once a day in the morning is that ok????

You mean motrin? its just ibuprofin - not real harsh at all. 400mg is prescription strength, the non prescription strength is 200mg per cap... you are basically just taking 2 advil with one pill. its up to you if you want to take it or not - but it is safe.

That is pretty much the difference between over the counter and prescription meds. The serving size. The advantage of prescription is that insurance might cover it, but people usually just buy them over the counter and save on the doctor visit and double or quadruple the dose to get prescription strength.

It's interesting that the "homework" you do over the net on a weekend is enough to make you think about taking a doctors advice. I think he did a little more "homework" than you did.

anyway...I was prescribed Motrin 800mg'ers, and often in my teenage years, early, I used to get headaches that would kill me. never did figure out why after many visits....anyway, I used to pop two 800mg on bad days, and even now I use them for when my muscles are swollen or DOMS are killing me.

The only problem with Motrin....like with any oral drug...is that with prolonged use it can be hard on your liver.....but we are talking 20+ years of abuse not regular usage...that was told to me by my doctor when I asked him if it was ok to take them often cause I would get headaches quite often.

I think it was my brain growing at such a rapid rate that it was swelling...so the motrin reduced the swelling while my intelligence went thru the roof. Yeah, that's it.

Dude, seriously, you're fine. Take your motrin.
