I don't care what anyone says. Their is nothing more inspiring than Rocky Soundtracks, especially part IV while your working out. I can't listen to music that doesn't speak to me. I have a varied selection of music I listen to, but if It does not speak to me about my determination, my struggle, my goals, my ups, and my downs than it really isn't motivating. I like to make my workouts tough and tiring, but glorious and somthing to be proud of as well.

I don't really listen to music when I lift, as I would probably get my headphones caught and end up breaking them. The gym that I go to plays totally crap radio over the sound system; it's not exactly inspiring. Maybe I should start taking a walkman. I do, however, listen to certain music on the way to the gym to get myself moving and energized:

Slayer-Reign in Blood
Terrorizer-World Downfall
Danzig II
Motorhead-Ace of Spades
Morbid Angel-Altars of Madness
Marduk-Panzer Division Marduk
Cryptopsy-None So Vile
Suffocation-Effigy of the Forgotten

i prefer listening to high intense trance/techno and rap/hip-hop.

i wont mention any of the groups or songs cuz by the looks of the prior responses.. everyone looks like headbangers here..

i like that stuff too.. but not for the gym.

That's just about one of the most ignorant statements I've ever read.
