My wife wants to start working out with me 2-3 times a week with weights and I was wondering what is the best way to get her going with it? What exercises should I have her doing? She has been dieting and losing weight and is now wanting to build a little muscle and tone up, but continue to lose fat. She will be doing cardio 3 days a week also on non-workout days. I just wasn't sure what a good beginner routine would be for women and figured I'd ask here. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Has your wife every weight trained before?
Good advice hrpiii posted. Same exercises, considerable amount of weight to make it work for her and coach her. Push her and she will really get into it especially having you there to keep her motivated. I see alot of couples in my gym and their wives or gf's just follow their routine. Having a wo partner is a great benefit. Make sure she doesn't neglect training any body parts. Ab work also needs to be in there and stretching. |
