Default any of you girls do pushups?

hey girls...just wondered if any of you did pushups? not the girlie kind where your knees touch the floor? lol I did them today for the first time and i was shocked that I could actually do them...lol I've never tried them since i've been training consistently...I guess I am getting stronger...i could actually do like 30 before stopping..lol prior to me training consistently I could barley do 5 of the girlie kind...anyway, just thought i would share...i was so impressed with myself..

good job fitme. I used to do them. I'm not training right now though...can't wait to start again! I won't be able to do pushups for awhile though even when I start up again. I used to be able to do a lot of regular pushups...it's pull-ups that I am horrible at.

hey thanx...they do look easy but you know how hard they are...what's a pull up again? i'm not too good with all these names of exercises yet...haha...i'm sure i'll know when you explain it though...haha

so,when will you start training again? I guess you got them done!

One of my friends (female) at the gym was doing them on Wednesday. She had better form then most of the men do! Keep it up fitme!

Mornin'

I can do 30-36 pushups (the "real" kind hahaha) at this point. Earlier this year, my max was about 8 or so.

It's nice to gain strenght like that. Keep up the great work!

pull up is when you hang from a bar and pull yourself up, like a chin up. I'm not so good at either of them.

I think in 5 or 6 weeks I can start working out my chest muscles again.

thanks guys...i always remember looking at guys do it when i first went to the gym and thought that was sooo easy....but when i actually tried doing it back then i couldnt do it...it was funny actually..anyway i'm on a high now..LOL

my goal is to make it right across the monkey bars...haha

I can do about 5 of them....

dont laugh but i guess you can do a chin up there too right? LOL

well done for doing them i do 3 reps of 15 if i hae said that right and i fount it really hard to start of with but well done.

First off i am so impressed i cant do a proper push up yet i dont have enough strength in the upper body yet.
But i am working on it, practice everyother day, and got some good advice from a site on the internet about doing them.

Pull ups will come when i have achieved a proper situp.



you should both be really proud of all the hard work.

hey don't worry, it's just practice, my ex could do 50 press ups and most of the thug workout - a lot more than me

I'm twice your age, been doing strenght training on and off for many years. The muscles remember after awhile and it's easier to get back into shape.

I do push ups. I place my feet on the excercise ball and do them that way. (so my feet are at an incline).
I usually do 3 or 4 sets of 20 when I do them.

Pull ups suck....well, ok, I just suck at pull ups. I'm getting better though. I guess the more youi do them, the better you get at them.

hey jenny...you do 3 0r 4 sets of 20? thats awesome...you're strong girl..lol

Is it easier on an incline?or harder? I did mine on an incline...lol maybe i was cheating...hahahhaha

okay my hands were up on a board about 6-8 inches high...make sense? maybe i'm not as strong as i'm thinking...

I also like doing them while putting my feet on a big exercise ball. I find it harder because the ball can move around a bit and you need to use all your stabelizers in your core to keep going.

It's a lot of fun!
