Wondered what that extra three pounds was about. And wondered why my breasts were all of a sudden huge.
So I'm not telling anyone (well, I told my husband and close friends, but not the world yet)... but I've decided to tell my bodybuilding board. I'd like to blog my progress as I'm pregnant and still working out, but I'd like to do it here in the women's area, if no one has any objections, cause I just don't feel like having every guy see it first thing when they go to member's training diaries. Is that cool with the board? |

I really appreciate it. This is the first day I found out, and I really like telling this board...helps me sort of own it.
Today, I was so freaked out that I didn't go for my normal hour of morning cardio. I sat and watched television. Off to a rockin good start... But I imagine I'll get a workout in. I feel very lucky to be athletic and that my eating has been super clean for the last month, but ample. For awhile I was really reducing calories, but I just decided it was counter productive about a month ago and I've been eating six meals a day, equal portions carbs and proteins. I'm also kinda lucky that I was injured for the last week, because my martial arts workouts can get really intense and I'm not sure that being kicked across a room qualifies as "safe" exercise. I still intend to do martial arts while I'm pregnant, but I'll ask for training partners who are sane and safe and I'll keep it low impact as much as possible. Man I'm freaked out. The only thing I'm going to change for sure about my diet is that I'm staying away from all artificial foods, and basically going to go from being about 70% organic to 85% organic. Also, obviously, I'll be eating as much to stay full and not worry about reducing fat during the pregnancy...Just trying to keep extremely healthy. I do really want to stay in great shape during pregnancy if possible. Today, I'm eating: Meal 1 An oatmeal bran power cookie (homemade) Gray Null Muscle Powder fortified with BCAA's Grapefruit Meal 2 egg toast turkey bacon frozen veggies Meal 3 lean chili rice salad Meal 4 cottage cheese/yogurt salsa dip celery carrots 1/2 pita Meal 5 chicken enchiladas "body for life" style Meal 6 protein hot chocolate |

congrats!
funny, I remember when I was so damn sick, I just thought is was a bug - I went almost 3 months not knowing I was pregnant - when my boobs changed the light went on! I did pilates & yoga till I was put on bed rest at 7 months - pre-term labor - but it made me feel so much better & I know it helped me with losing my baby weight after Chase was born. Breastfeeding help too - more than anything! If you need anything - just ask!

Well Congratulations jiujitsugirl! May your pregnancy be without complications and enjoy every minute of it. If you are like my wife, she says she never felt better in her life. God Bless to you and yours!

biggest piece of advice.... #1. DO WHAT YOU WANNA DO NOW CAUSE AFTER YOU HAVE THAT KID..YOUR WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE CHANGES DRAMATICALLY! #2. NEVER QUIT THE GYM OR WORKING OUT..EVEN IF YOU ARE SO EXHAUSTED..JUST DO IT....I QUIT AFTER THE FOURTH MONTH OF BOTH MY PREGNANCIES..I HAD NO ENERGY..I WAS STUCK WITH A BIG WEIGHT GAIN...IF I EVER HAD TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD HONESTLY NEVER QUIT..I WOULD FORCE MYSELF..LOL GOOD LUCK! |

Remember to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! You can really reduce your chances of stretch marks if you keep your skin moist. Cocoa Butter is recommended, but I would also recommend St. Ives 24hr moisture (so you don't have to reapply constantly).

I'm feeling kinda freaked out today and it's nice to logon to all this nice supportive reasurance...
I'm off to take a jiujitsu private. I'm lucky because I have a world class jiujitsu private instructor who can workout really gently with me and still teach me a lot. I've worked with him for years, so he's going to be my main man during the pregnancy. (you know, besides the hubby). I talked to my muay thai teacher and he says there's a girl there who trained until her 8th month and was back when the baby was one month old...so he's going to hook us up with each other. I'm not going to train Muay Thai until after I've talked to her and him, and seen a doctor because it's very high impact, although I'm sure it doesn't have to be and she can help me learn to workout and be pregnant.... I workout pretty much or go totally insane. I know I'll be tired as hell during pregnacy, but I can't picture myself not training...I just am such a restless person...it's like i'm a puppy...just try to explain to a puppy that it can't romp around for nine months.... |

Yoga is excellent for pregnant ladies. Personally, since it's your first pregnancy and you don't know how you and your growing baby will feel/progess, I recommend you give priority to your pregnancy rather than your training. I would avoid any impact sport/training. That's my opinion.
