Question Green Tea

Hey ya'll I had a question about Green Tea and women. I was just talking with my mom and she drinks Green Tea but she brought it to my attention that she heard Green Tea affects the absorption of iron. Is this true?

Thanks in advance.

I'm interested in this because I've been drinking green tea every morning instead of coffee for years.
I looked it up on the net, as you can, and this website mentions it's effect on iron, and that it does effect some absorption. I checked other sites, and they mention it too, but it doesn't seem to effect enough absoption of iron to be harmful to the body. Too much iron is bad, and this website also said green tea helps people with eplipsy, because iron can effect them negatively.

If you're taking a multivitamin daily, and eating some foods rich in iron, I doubt there's anything to worry about. I've been doing that for years and feel better than ever

here's the link I mentioned:

not if some of us drink high doses of green tea a day. I drink a concentrated version of it, that has the antioxidants, etc. of green tea as over 5 cups a day will. (But with hardly any caffeine)

and then there's all this hype about how green tea is harmful.
there's always someone trying to ruin a good thing

I look forward to my cup of hot green tea every day at 2:00. I dont know why but its like my little getaway in the middle of the day. I toss it in the nucar and sit out on the patio listen to the birds and I'm telling you what I really do look forward to that lil 15 min to myself.
If it effects my iron FINE ill take it!
