Do you lift now? If so, what does your routine look like now? I not a fan of trying to focus on one area. You really need a good balanced routine.
How many days can you or would you want to commit to weight training? Are you training at home or at a gym? I know this seems like a lot of questions. But it will help us help you to put a routine together. The combination of cardio, lifting and a clean diet will help you slim down.

thanks Hawkwind, and it's not too many questions.
I'd weightlift every day, unless my muscles are too sore at first, then every other day. I haven't been using weights at all, just doing a bit of cardio stuff. I don't have actual weights, but I'd buy some if necessary, if affordable for me. We have a Bowflex machine (whatever you call it) but I haven't really used it. |

Your best bet is to lift weights, gain some muscle as it would help lose fat overall and in the long term scheme of things.
i'd suggest making sure u get a full body workout. don't just work ur chest or something like that. |

breasts are all fat, i have numerous girls i know who are always talking about how their boobs are bigger/smaller etc...
with a good cardio regime and diet you will see your bodyfat% go down, depending where your genetics lie, will you see your breats deflate. some women gain weight more on the hips/belly, breasts... hopefully it wont be a stubborn area for you to lose from

Hi leia2,
Every day would be too much. Rest is just as important. What type of cardio are you doing? Have you checked out the diet area here on BB4U? Have you had the chance to track at least a weeks worth of your diet? I use fitday.com to keep tabs on my diet. *Quick note. I'm away from home spending time with my sons family so I may be a bit slow to get back to you from time to time for the next week or so. But I will get back to you.

thanks for all the advice.
I agree, having more muscle makes it easier to burn fat. Hawkwind, it's a Bowflex Xtreme 2 (is all it says) my roommates, but he never uses it. lol I'm using the Orbitrek for cardio. I'd prefer to workout at home, since I have this equipment at hand. I dont eat much junk food, practically at all. I eat whole wheat pasta, salads, quiches with spinach, etc. that I make with whole wheat crust, and drink pure organic fruit juice. That has worked for me all along without gaining weight, but my job changed recently, and I'm sitting down more, so I think I just need to work out more often and lift weights. |

deflate...lol. sounds like balloons. I wouldn't say breasts are All fat...they do have other nice things about them. but I know what you're saying; any increase in size is just unecessary fat. so not all guys like big boobs? Or do they only like fake big boobs? just curious I'd like to be a 34B or C, but I'm 5'9, and 36C is the smallest I've fit into. I don't know if being tall has anything to do with it. |

lol, my analysis was purely anatomical... i love breasts just as much as the next guy
I'm not a fan of big boobs, i prefer a girl with a cute ass instead... if a girl has huge breasts then i'm always wondering that as soon as she releases the bra catch, will i see a pair of water ballons swinging by the belly button And a no with the big fake boobs, thats a whole lot of insecurity right there IMO

it's good to hear not all guys like huge boobs. I was afraid if I was a 34B or C and dating someone, he'd secretly wish I was bigger.
and ditto on the cute butt. That's never been a problem area for me. so I'm looking forward to any suggestions of a routine to start with, bowflex and or weights and cardio. thanks, too Hawkwind |

the bowflex starts at 5 lbs, and you just add as many more 10 lbs at a time you want. (for your upper body, anyway) I guess that would be just as good as weights (?)
I'm guessing a beginner should start at 10 lbs., but how often a week, and how many sets/reps to lose weight the quickest but without injury is what I'm wondering. and for cardio, the orbitrek is good for that, but only seems to give my lower half a workout. is the typical 3 times a week for 20 mins the best way to go? You need to pick 6 of your favorite chest excercises and preform 5 sets each of 10 reps. You need to make sure you get a 2 minute break between each set, and its important to be accurate. So many people forget to do that, but it really counts. Theres a big difference between 2:07 and 2:00 on the dot. Get it right.

Leia2,
I haven't forgotten you. I'm heading back home on Wednesday. My DIL and I have been trying to get a few things done here before I leave. I still have to look up your particular bowflex so I can put together a basic routine for you. Hawk
