How many calories are y'all eating? How do you calculate your caloric intake?

Are you asking how to figure out how many calories you need everyday? If so, go here. http://diet.ivillage.com/healthcalc/0,,,00.html

As for me personally, my total daily requirement is roughly 2400 cals. But I'm eating between between 1700 and 1900 since I'm trying to lose some flab. haha

Default Thanks.

I was just curious how different people deal with the calorie thing...I personally never really counted until recently (a little flab inspired me). I know all those formulas, but it seems like different people have different responses to the formulas...and there's that whole thread about zig zagging....I thought it would be interesting to hear from the ladies. For one thing, I never see a martial arts multiplier...it seems like it jumps from moderate activity to extreeeeme all day activity....that 1.55 thingy? I was also wondering if you eat more on days when you train or not...

Gosh. It is kinda hard to count calories. I usually have 3 whey protein shakes a day with some type of frut. That is much easier because I use water when making my shakes. All my other meals are a bit tougher. I don;t count calories, but try to keep up with lean meats, egg whites, lo carb breads/pasta, brown rice and 2 servings of veggies a day.

I workout about 1.5 hours a day, 30 minutes cardio and 1 hour intense weight training/abs.. So in the end I know I am burning it off. I need the fuel. I can probably outeat many men out there. I love to eat... but I really try to watch.

I also have a goood genetics. I have been eating pretty good for 1 week now and have lost some inches already.. I just hate cardio....

Well, I don't lift weights or anything anymore (no gym access, no weights), and even when I did (high school) I tried to keep my cals within the range that was required at the time, which of course was higher than it is now. For the most part, I do cardio and body-weight exercises now and keep my cals in the range I stated in the other post.

On another note, I did try the Zig Zag thing at one point. It did work, but I just couldn't keep up with it. Plus I felt like I was eating my family out of house and home on the days you're supposed to eat more.

I don't really count my calories that much anymore...if it's something that I'm not that familiar with, I might check out the calorie content. Otherwise, after a while you pretty much know the ballpark figure...well, at least I do because I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food. I tend to stick with the basics.
My calories, on average, usually range from 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day.
Sometimes when I'm slacking off or I'm super busy, I wind up taking in a lot less...around 700 or so (yeah, that's not that good). But sometimes I take in a little more too. I'd say the 1000 to 1200 is average caloric intake for me though.

Honestly, all I really pay attention to is the fat and sodium content. Carbs don't scare me enough to worry about them, but I don't eat a ton of them anyway. And since 98% of everything I eat is based on what my mom can eat (she had a heart attack a few years ago), I figure I'm doing alright. As long as I eat mostly clean and stay active, I'm a happy girl.

Thanks Fitme....

As far as counting calories and stuff, I pay the most attention to fats. I'm still working on that though, cause I sometimes don't think that I get enough fat in my diet during the day...uuuugggg....can't seem to get this right.

Carbs never scared me either though. I happen to love carbs, and think that I might be a carb junkie.
But I don't feel like it's hindered my progress at all by eating carbs. I think they effect certain people differently than others.

It's a claddah symbol.
I've had it for sooo long (probably about 9 or 10 years). I've been saying that I'm adding to it since the day I got it, but still haven't. One day, I really will add onto it.

JD, Yeah, it looks cute. I love tattoos, but am too chicken to get one. I have had enough pain in my life, childbirth, electrolysis, etc. I am also kinda scared of piercings. But then again, I may be too old for that stuff. And I saw this show on FitTv about removing them, it can cost about $2 Gs to get rid of.

FitMe, I usually watch everything except calories:, fat, carbs, dietary fiber, sodium, protein, etc. I usually eat egg whites, lean meats and lots of veggies. I do LOVE carbs too. I love bagels with cream cheese and grape jelly, chocolate, ice cream, pasta, rice... and on and on!!! Being Cuban, we also eat alot of Fried food, Its so good... But I stay away from it until the in-laws or mom are in town. I love to eat period, but I try to restrain myself during the week and cheat on the weekend. I don't drink too much whiich can contain tons of carbs, although I can hold my own. My husband does all the cooking for me... He is really good about helping me watch my intake of certain things...

The older you get the harder will power becomes... but I keep trying!!!

Good luck girly girls... Keep up the Good work cause you both you look Sweet!!!!

Thanks CubanChick...by the way, you guys are both little babies...LMAO. You've both had kids and your afraid of tattoos??? They really don't hurt that much at all. It actually starts to go numb after a while. Well for me at least it did.
Having my son hurt 7 thousand times more than a little tattoo.

But, back on track...along the lines of what Sweething was saying...I go on the fitnesshub.com when I want to count calories and nutritional content.
