i was thinking to get a lil ten pounder and work lefty an additional day. I find working both arms at once my right automatically compensates. I think righty takes more of the load.
I notice my right is more defined. I can see more muscle fiber in my shoulders than in the left. Even with a weak rotator in my right...strange.

one arm is usually more powerful, thats why i would have only one barbell exercise then stick to dumbells for the rest.
working both arms at once will work the weaker arm more but you dont quite know how much of the stress is being placed on that arm...

I have this type of problem with my right side in the trap are too....I guess maybe cause I am right handed. I have much more strength on the right side of my body as a whole, especially legs... Boy are my tris killling me today, I thought they were numb from sleeping on my arm, but it was just good old soreness.. Good workout yesterdAy!!!!!!!!!

im dealing with the same thing. Ive always used a barbell for almost every exercise and my left bicep and chest is weaker than the right. Ive stopped using barbells and one strictly to dumbell. If my left arm cant get it, i just dont get that rep. Esp if you are alternating arms on curls, i would start with the weaker one so if u cant get a rep on the weaker arm, dont try with the stronger one. My left arm is starting to catch up. Its not there yet but this method is working FOR ME.

THIS IS THE BEST ADVICE My left arm used to be almost a whole inch smaller than my right when I first started. After 6 months of training, my left caught up and surpassed my right arm by 1/8 inch. I just trained as you normally would |

If you look at most bodybuilders you'll notice if they're a right-handed person, the left arm is stronger. This is because that arm is working harder then the other, therefore it's going to grow faster. Just stick with your workout and eventually your non-primary arm will catch up, thats the more simple explanation I have.

Perhaps you are lifting up and shrugging a bit with that right side of yours for other lifts like curls or such. Cuz that will do it. Check your form on lifts like curls, or raises, etc..etc... When doing curls always keep your chest out and your shoulders low and dont lift them up. If you do, then your are involving your delts and even traps into the exercise. I bet that's the issue. On this note, my right Pec used to be smaller than my left because of a form issue. When doing bench press I was always pressing more up with the left side and was finishing my lockout unbalanced with the left higher than the right. When I corrected the improper form they quickly balanced out pretty much. Good luck |

i will have to pay attention then tomorrow to my technique..maybe you're right. also, maybe i'm trying to lift heavier than i can do so it screws up my form? we'll see...thanks again |
