Default Quinoa...

Anyone know of any good recipes involving this stuff? Seems like a nice alternative to pasta or rice every once in a while (supposedly the only grain that's also a complete protein, also has lots of fiber and a ton of vitamins and blah blah). But anyways, I'm just interested to see if anyone has tried this stuff. My caf at work had it for a while but I didn't like the way they did it (usually a casserole or something).

I have some recipes at home. I'll throw them up when i get back. I think it's mainly breakfast stuff though.

I don't think it's a complete protein though. The only complete proteins are meats, dairy (eggs, milk) and Soy.

I think if you mix black beans and brown rice, this makes a complete protein though? That's just a random tip haha.

Eh, I'm going on what I read. Says that it's got all 9 essential amino acids. I wouldn't really use this as a protein source anyways, I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth eating to give some variety.

Definitely worth eating for variety. It's really good stuff.

My favorite way to make quinoa is to toss it with fresh squeezed lime juice, black beans, diced tomatoes, chopped onion, and minced fresh cilantro. Unfortunately I have never whipped out my measuring cup/spoons to know how much I put of each but I don't think you can really go wrong and it's easy to adjust for your taste. I typically only use one can of black beans though. And drain/wash the black beans before you toss it or you'll get bean juice all over everything. OH and I also FINELY mince a jalepeno pepper and toss it in there but if you don't like spicy then pass on that.
