Default veggies...fresh vs frozen

I know theres been topics with similar subject matter..I just couldnt find them

Anyway..Im thinking of buying more of my vegetables frozen. There are so many times when Im preparing for my shopping trip that I have to throw away vegetables that just didnt get eaten before they start to turn. Every week something goes to the trash can.... I hate throwing money away.

Do you eat frozen or fresh veggies?

Is there any downside to going cold?

As long as theres nothing added to the frozen veg then theres really no difference, i eat both fresh and frozen, just as long as your getting your greens.

Frozen veges are good (especially the snap frozen variety).

They hold all their nutrients and are convenient.

Yep - I load up on the frozen variety for during the week. We do fresh on the weekends usually. I hit the local farmers market on Fridays for fruit and veggies.

I've discovered something really good....

I wait for my bananas to get really ripe & then I peel them & throw them in a bag into the freezer.

I throw these into my morning protein shake & blend - it's like having a smoothie.

Fresh vs. Frozen:

1. Fresh is Best!

2. Frozen without chemicals or preservatives is better then canned.

3. Canned.

I usually have 75-80% of my veggies frozen. The rest is usually fresh.

Cammo's banana info is spot on. You can do the same with Blueberries, Rasberries, heck any berry really. I buy the berries fresh (when in season) and freeze them for my shakes.

Mmm, frozen grapes rock.

I picked about 2-3 gallons of wild blackberries this year, still have a few quart bags frozen. I love them! They grow wild at the edge of my back yard.

If you individually wrap them in foil that also works and they tend to last longer in the freezer that way and take up less space.

Too much work for my liking - if you put them in a zip lock bag they last for ages.
