Yep - I load up on the frozen variety for during the week. We do fresh on the weekends usually. I hit the local farmers market on Fridays for fruit and veggies.

Fresh vs. Frozen:
1. Fresh is Best! 2. Frozen without chemicals or preservatives is better then canned. 3. Canned. I usually have 75-80% of my veggies frozen. The rest is usually fresh. Cammo's banana info is spot on. You can do the same with Blueberries, Rasberries, heck any berry really. I buy the berries fresh (when in season) and freeze them for my shakes.

Mmm, frozen grapes rock.
I picked about 2-3 gallons of wild blackberries this year, still have a few quart bags frozen. I love them! They grow wild at the edge of my back yard.

If you individually wrap them in foil that also works and they tend to last longer in the freezer that way and take up less space. |
