Default flaxseed

what are your thoughts on flaxseed and what recipes do you use it in. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Flaxseed's a great source of essential fatty acids - I just pop caps, I don't bother using it in recipes.

I normally have 2 in the morning & 1 with my PWO meal in no particular order.

I do agree with you though - fish oil is probably the better of the 2.

On the contrary - I also supp with a good multi

Hey guys, quick question. In most lists of 'good fats', olive oil is one of them, yet I see a lot of people supplementing with flax and fish oil. Am I alright just using olive oil as my EFA source or should I drop it and start buying caps of other EFA's? Thanks !

I heart olive oil.

With all of the amazing cumulative knowledge here, I'm baffled that nobody has mentioned Sesamin or even macadamian oil...

Olive oil is definitely healthy, but fish oil is just, i dunno, almost magical in a sense. its just really intense and healthy.

I dont take flaxseed oil, I do supplement with fish oil though.

As for the olive oil, I take a couple tablespoons daily of it. I also use it and canola oil to cook foods with.

I've been using flaxseed meal. I guess you arent supposed to cook with it, but you can toss it in homemade protein shakes. I've also made protein "bars" with it. Basically a bunch of dry ingrediants that get real dough and then i make bars and put them in the fridge or freezer. Makes a pretty good snack

Meal Replacement Bars (Cutting)

Combine in Large Mixing Bowl

8 Scoops Whey (Vanilla is very good)
3 Cups Oats
1 Package Sugar Free Fat Free Pudding (Any flavor is good)
2 Cups Skim Milk

Mix until a sticky batter is formed (may take a few minutes)

use a large spoon to spread out the mix into the bottom of a Pam-sprayed glass or metal cooking tray (spread until even)
put in the fridge overnight and cut into 8 equal bars that yield:
3g fat
28g carbs
29g protein
257 calories
These bars taste amazing, and are perfect for: breakfast, pre OR postworkout

This is from the site that i linked above, this recipe looks pretty darn easy and I have seen it on multiple sites before, so it is probably pretty easy to do.
