Default shoulder issues

Hi. I am 61 years old. I work whole body twice a week. Latly I've been having
shoulder issues. Not with the joint, but more in the way of muscle cramping. I
realy do'nt want to stop working out, so I was thinking of eliminating direct
shoulder exersizes for a month or so. Could someone give me pros and cons on this. I also want to mention that my shoulders are my weak link. Thanks !

If they are your weak link you should hit them harder. They are likely getting fatigued early, hence the cramping feeling you are getting.

DB presses, military presses, and rear/lat/front db raises for stability. Very light weights for the raises.

Thank you for the advice! I will try to work them harder. The cramping is
slowing me down at work, but I will try to lift through it. As far as front raises
are concerned, I do upright rows, is'nt that some what the same?

Front Raises hit your anterior delts whereas Upright Rows hit the medial delts.

In a word: No.

If you are benching heavy and also incorporate overhead presses into your routine, front raises are essentially a waste of time

i would suggest staring away from upright rows, dips, and keep it light on other exercises that indirectly effect the shoulders.

Lol....good stuff!!

Incline kills my right shoulder, so I only do flat bench or seated military presses. For raises I don't go much higher than 25lb db's, 3x8, and get a good pump and such.
