I did the bench workout on Saturday and just altering your elbows by like 5 degrees like that is so impressive how big a difference it made. It was one of my best bench press session in ages. Didnt move more weight but it just felt so much better. I felt like i could drive the weight up harder for more reps. Felt more comfortable and felt like i had worked my chest alot more.
Like on our last set for flat bench for example. I was pushing really hard to get out my last rep, then when i got to the top i paused for a second and started attempting another. Usually this would have been me hitting failure with the flared out elbows approach. But i was amazed at how i got it off my chest and slowly but surely got it just to the top. Usually my push just seems to hit an instant wall and no matter how hard i try i cant get it threw the sticking point.
