I work my traps on a back day when I deadlift.

Sorry but if you incorporate dead's lift into back, traps need to be down on shoulder day! no way around it!

Peace

For me shoulders and traps are like panties and pussv!

You definitely hit the upper fibers of your traps while dead lifting, so that points to back day. And I don't know how else you'd hit the lower/middle fibers other than doing some heavy bent over rows, this also points to back day. I used to work them with shoulders as well until jlo brought me to the light, they are a back muscle.

That makes no sense. The delts and traps are two different muscle groups and provide different main functions. The shoulders are used mostly in pushing movements and the traps mostly in pulling movements. Train movements, not bodyparts to move the most weight and overload your muscles the greatest amount possible. Furthermore, the traps are a back muscle that run halfway down your back, they're not a delt muscle so do deads and traps on back day.

LOL - look at an anatomy chart. Not to mention the fact that they get hit when you do most PULL movements.

honestly... maybe twice a year, and that's probably because I was waiting to use a machine or something. Trap work is NOT in my routine at all.

Word, the only "trap" exercise I do is deads and the once in a blue moon face pull.

i know some people, such as yourself favor that point of view. i usually do 3 set of face pulls or very occasionally sometimes shrugs just to change it up a bit. face pulls are one of my favor exercises.

anyway, im going to add face pulls as my last exercise on back day. thanks for all the input

Partner never said it was not back, when i hit dead's i hit my traps but i focus them on shoulder day to get more out of the lift./ sure i have done traps on back day for years but found i get more progress from this angle. just works for me as it ties my delts and traps in nicely.

Peace

Glad it works for, but my shouders get worked the day after my back day, so I would essentially be working traps two days in a row.

That might be ok with the gear you're on, but not me. lol

I agree 100% about about the trap work on back day and also on my dead's and straight dead's i shrug at the top of every lift. I also agree with HRPiii If i was not looking to compete as a bodybuilder i would nix the shrug lift all together. for me Shrugs bring a very nice peak to my traps one i can't seem to get without focusing more time on my traps. the main reason for traps on Shoulder day is i can dedicate a complete lift to working my trap peaks with shrugs this is the only way i can do this, and on back day i just do not have enough energy left to do the shrug lift this is the main reason for shrugs and shoulders. My traps are a muscle i can bang with little effect of stress in that area. as you can see how i mapped out my lift in the pics area. i will switch up every 3 weeks for 12 weeks to keep the body confused. but once again it's primarily to achieve better symmetry only.

Peace
