Default Weight Training question

I am going to start lifting this coming week. Before I start, I like to have a plan. I don't like wasting time in the weight room. I can't seem to find my notes/journal from last summer when I had a routine, and I had a quick question I hope someone could help me answer. I read about the benefits of training large muscle groups (chest or legs) followed by smaller groups (biceps or abs)....Something about when you do leg exercises, for example, your body produces more creatine (or something) that helps you achieve better results when training your biceps next? Anyone know what this concept is called? Along with making a plan/routine, I like to know why I am doing certain things... Thanks
Adam
