Well, it's REALLY bad when I do upright rows. I thought about the hydration problem, but I'm drinking plenty of water. This is just SO weird. But for some reason these two pull exercises just do this to me. As far as I know, I'm breathing right (exhaling through the mouth on the pull motion, and inhaling through the nose on the let-down). I've also tried several other ways..but nothing seems to help.

And when you're saying dwo drink I'm assuming you mean something other than water right...cause I'm already doing that. |

It sounds to me like you're doing what is called a valsalva maneuver (most likely related to improper breathing) in which you bear down hard during the lift. It can temporarily squeeze the heart causing a drop in both heart rate and blood pressure. This gives you that dizziness/nauseated feeling. Get your breathing in check. Try decreasing the weight to see if it happens even with light weight. My guess is you're straining way too hard to get that weight up and that's causing you to bear down too hard.

Studies are now showing that holding your breath while you're weight lifting can increase the risk of developing glaucoma (which can potentially lead to partial or total blindness) |

Well, I know I'm breathing deeply when I lift, and as far as I know I'm doing it properly (exhale on the push/pull, and inhale on the release). I'll try to concentrate on breathing more though in my next few workouts and see how that works. Thanx guys
