Default 50lbs over but ready to start fresh again w/ supplements. Need some insight.

I first started training 7 years ago. I didn't know any better so I used to do 30min cardio & weights on the same day five days a week. I was 215 when I started and a few months later dropped to 175lbs. Though I looked trimmed I never saw noticible muscle growth since I didn't know about supplementling protein, etc. The only thing I took was Thermo-Cuts by ON upon the recommendation of my local gym's counter person. Unfortunately I stopped training when I no longer had my fat belly.

I joined the gym again 3 years ago, but this time was a bit more informed. I supplemented my training with whey protein, glutamine & creatine. I noticed bigger gains but unfortunately was still doing cardio & weights during the same workout which exhausted me.

NOW, I want to get back in the game and stay that way since I'm 50lbs above my target. I want to attempt the MAX-OT routine and have purchased ON 100% Whey, Prolab's Creatine & Sci's Xtend & ON's Thermo-Cuts. I didn't reorder the glutamine cause it made me breakout. I wanna weight train on Mon Wed Fri and do HIIT on Tue & Thu. I have read over 200 threads and really believe I have learned a lot and come a long way.

My question is this: Should I take the creatine 1 hour before and Xtend 30min before I weight train? And then PWO take my protein shake? And on my cardio days take Xtend 30min before I do HIIT?

Thanks in advance & sorry for the long post.

man i hate all this x-tend-muslix-extendo-ridiculoid-crow-bar-streroid-wanna be-crea-****

seriously man what is your goal?

you wanna put on nice lean muscle? Then...

-lift fukin heavy every time you hit the gym.
-Do the big 3 like youknow you should.
-Drink your shakes after your workout and before bed,
-do a bit of cardio to stay lean
-eat like a beast and make sure you get atleast 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight.

You do not need all that xtendomundo junk, creatine is fine, if you're taking 3 grams a day, take 1.5g 30 mins before you lift and 1.5 g within 30 mins after lifting. 1.5 grams on off days.
get some goody goody fats too.. like fish oil.

Why do you have thermocuts for? I thought you said you were already trim... are you trim or not?

What exactly is your goal my friend?

I think he mentioned that he was 50# above his target weight now after some time off...

Like TMF said - lift heavy every time you go to the gym. Eat a ton of good food, get some creatine and whey. Throw in some cardio to keep things going. The increased muscle mass will help burn the fat. Remember that this won't happen over night, but it will happen if you keep at it.

Definately take the xtend before cardio. It's a BCAA product right?

Yes. It's a BCAA that everyone seems to like. And you're right, I'm definately going to take it before cardio since people say its provides a good boost and prevents fatigue.

Joe is correct, I have the Thermo-Cuts cuz I'm 50lbs overweight. However, thanks for your advice. Everthing you and Joe mentioned is what the MAX-OT program says......"lift heavy".

Do you guys know if its okay to mix creatine and BCAA (Xtend) in the same bottle and take them both with grape juice ?

I take BCAA too lol..
yea mix the creatine and bcaa together if you want. Just get it in your body.

I only take BCAAs before cardio.

Default Update

Update:

I actually started back in the gym this past Monday after 2 or 3 year hiatus.
I'm doing the Max-OT routine and on the loading phase with creatine.

After my 1st workout on Monday (Chest/Back), I felt incredibly refreshed. Not until Tuesday did I feel the pain but it was worth it. Tuesday was strictly cardio for 25 minutes. And today I did Legs/Triceps only because I was still too sore to do Shoulders.

I'll post some pictures real soon so that I can compare them 2 months down the road.

Thanks to everyone who gave me their input.
